What do you want for Coburn

Edmonton needs a young dman like Coburn. What would you want for him?

What do I want for Coburn?

I just want him to be happy, and comfortable in his own skin.

Boy, I'd love a first rounder, but Edmonton isn't trading this year's. I'd take a first rounder next year. Is that too much?

Ideally I'd like to package him for a young and promising goalie. I also don't want as little as some Flyers fans would accept because I think Coburn is a pretty solid defenseman who does have potential to be a top 2 Dman. He was drafted in the top 8 in his draft year I believe, if that says anything.

Honestly, I want Coburn to develop into a stud defenseman like he was hyped to be. I love his size and if he gets his head straight and he's playing up to shape then I want him in O&B.

If not...I'll take a second rounder.

Trading Coburn makes a hole on defense for us, so I would like to sign him. If we do trade him there is always free agency to get a serviceable replacement though. If we need anything for him it is a pick (can't take Khabi's contract and I don't think they want JDD or Dubnyk...), and your first is too valuable, but this year's second would be good and fair trade as far as I see it.

Is that reasonable for EDM?

1a. Goalie - young or middle aged, but solid.
1b. 1st rounder - so we can get Jack Campbell
1c. Still havent given up on him so I wouldnt mind keeping him
1d. Trade Carle for any of the above options

Obviously there's no way in hell that Edmonton makes that trade.

For Coburn, I want something better than being stuck in Edmonton.

Really? He didn't come in here asking what it takes to get Coburn out of our filthy hell-hole town, so we don't have to insult his frozen over hell-hole town. Manners, for Christ's sake...

I meant stuck playing for that mess of a team, didn't mean to imply anything about the town. I know Mrs. Pronger didn't like it, but I can't imagine it's such a bad place if they love hockey so much.

So the Flyers trade Coburn for a draft pick that might develop into a top 4 defenseman in 5-6 years. Logical.

There are some people on this board who are just hoping Coburn will develop into a top four defense man in the next 5-6 years.
It probably depends what Coburn wants with respect to salary. If he wants too much it makes sense to get something for him, doesn't it.

Exactly. He comes back strong next year, I think.
