Well looking at the standings we aren't playing the hawks until GP = 82. At this point the Wings could play Chicago, SJ, Vancouver or Phoenix.

Anyway, if the Wings play the Hawks I think they'd win in 6 or 7. Quennville has never proven to be a good coach against the Wings and the Hawks goaltending is pretty questionable (so is the Wings)

To be honest, it will be a great series no matter the result.

There was no option for Detroit in 3, so I went with Detroit in 4.

I think chicago would be better for travel sake. Phonex= travel Van also= lots of travel. Even the sharks would require a lor of travel. This is why I hate the WIngs being in the west.

IF we play the Hawks, I think we might just squeeze through in 7 games. Mind you, this is a Hawks team who are better than last year. They want revenge and Niemi might actually be better than Huet last year, so this could be a completely different series. I don't like playing the Hawks, even if this matchup is awesome.

The series would go 6 or 7, my heart says Chicago in 6..my head says Chicago in 7. Home ice advantage would be huge in this series.

sadly, i think the hawks would prevail in 7 games.

also, if the wings lose tonight the 7th seed in almost a lock.

If we play the Hawks, I'm saying Detroit in 6.

This could be considered an 8 game series considering we play them they last game of the season. But Wings in 6. The Hawks are sort of banged up and they have coach Q. Last year we were missing Lidstrom and Datsyuk for most of the series and we still won in 5.

Campbell and Johnsson still out? Hawks will have a hard time with anyone in the first round with their backend being dinged up like that

Well, if we do stay in 7th then my prediction of 7 game series win stands. But, right now we are either looking at a 6th or 5th spot. I don't want to play the Canucks, too much travel and they are quite dangerous.

I think it's gonna be the Nucks, not the Hawks.

Since they're going to start Niemi and not Huet it's harder to get a read on the Hawks. Huet is a sieve but Niemi, who really knows...

Yep. We're getting either Vancouver or Phoenix in the 1st round. That's a bit scary since both teams have one of the top 3-5 goalies in the league this season. We could be in store for another Giguere series where even if we dominate the other team we lose to a red-hot goalie.

The numbers look nice for Howard but the Vancouver defense has had lots of injuries and Luongo can get hot in an instant, while Bryzgalov is just plain scary. He has a Giguere moment against us written all over him, plus his career playoff numbers are actually pretty good in the few times he's had to be the starter.
