I know that I should be terrified of the Flyers, but somehow I'm not. Of course, I'm not out there getting laid out by a Pronger elbow, unpenalized as always.

Clean slate for the Rangers. If there was one team in the East, not just the Atlantic, that I would want them to be facing...guess what, it's the Flyers.
If it doesn't work out for the best, fine. I'm actually pretty hopeful about this home and home.

they've got no carter and boucher as their starter. While avery will be missed these two games, I like our chances.

I've heard Carter might be back, but he just had a screw put into his foot. It's hard to believe he will just hit the ice and be 100%

It will be what it will be. If they work hard and play rugged mistake free hockey, they'll have a chance to win.

Don't underestimate Boucher though; yeah the guy isn't a real starter anymore ,but he's had success before so this will be no easy battle?

Scared of the Flyers though? Please. They're 1980s WWF bad guys to me; they spend the entire match squashing the good guy only to get small packaged for the quick three count.

Pros; Everyone has been playing great lately and they have some momentum, plus the first game is at home.

Cons; well other than they miss the dance, they can turn a negative into a positive and get a good pick, so it's not the worst thing.

Have faith peeps.

If there ever was the chance to get revenge for 1995 & 1997, this is it.

Cant wait for this. I like the fact that even if we need OT in 1 of those games we can still go through. Bring it on.

Interesting fact: if Boston drop their last 3 games and we go 1-1, both Rangers and Flyers would make it.

These 2 games are going to be a completely different dynamic and I am starting to worry that the same "easy" schedule that got us to this point is going to work against us when it comes to adjusting to decent hockey (See Buffalo Game).

Note: If you think that the Sabres have anything other than a MUCH better goalie than the Flyers you are sadly mistaken, Flyers D and F are 10x what Buffalo is, Fortunately Miller is 100x the goalie (insert any of the 6 starters here) is. Also, I fail to recognize how Miller had anything to do with us GIVING UP 5 goals.
I totally agree with you that this game is going to be much harder than playing, say Toronto or the Islanders, however I think that the Sabres are a team that is harder for the Rangers to beat than Philly is. Say what you want about the Sabres, theres a reason they're second in the conference and Philly is competing with us for a playoff spot and its more than just Ryan Miller. Philly has bigger names, but saying they their forwards and defense are ten times what Buffalo's is sounds ridiculous. Philly's offense is not even 2x what that of the Sabres is. Their defense is better, definitely, but the Sabres play the right system for their roster, they are coached better and again, if Philly is so good why are they struggling to make the playoffs against us while the Sabres are sitting pretty in second?

Honestly, I hope the Rangers win these games and make it because the pick isn't what it could have been maybe a week ago and I'd rather keep watching the Rangers than not, say what you will. However, I don't think for one second that this team has any chance of making a deep playoff run. I don't think that the Rangers are going to be out of their league or anything up against Philly though. They've had it easy recently but they have been racking up both wins and points. They're playing for their playoff lives, and some of them are playing for contracts, jobs, and of course glory. I'm not sure they're going to win but they'll put up a fight. It should be two great games.

Fleury was everything but lights out against the Caps last season. In fact he was poor - except for game 7.

Doesn't matter much this season though. I'd agree with your comment as regards the here and now, because the Caps are much better this season. Certainly offensively, but they can actually play defense too when they need to.... which has been all too rare, unfortunately.

Being a Pennsylvania Ranger fan, I'd say I know quite a bit of Flyers fans.

Of all times to prevail, lets do it now.

Wining one against Philly... yes.

Both? No.

We'll need help for sure. If it comes down to Sunday in Philly we're done.

.

While I have no faith in this team to pull off what needs to be pulled off to get us in the PO's, I would hope that if they do get it done, it's against a totally healthy Flyers team so that there are no excuses whatsoever.

My opinion, they fall on Friday. Season over.

Saturday will be a waste of a game.

Like I said... I can see the Friday night momentum swing at MSG in our favor to pull out a win. However, afternoon game...Sunday...in Philadelphia.... probably not happening.

We'll need help.

Yeah afternoon games have historically been quite an albatross for this team.
