Wasn't that back up Clemmenson?

Clemmenson is a Leafs killer, either playing for, or against the leafs.

The worst part about the whole isles thing was they went 4-0 to end the season, and beat us in a SO on the last thursday to keep their hopes alive.

Here's the deal then. We beat Montreal. Rangers win both games against Philly (one has to be OT) and Montreal is out. Oh yeah, and Boston needs a point somehow if it pans out this way, or they're 9th and everyone else is bumped up.

7. NY 88 pts
8. PHI 87 pts 40 wins

-----

9. MTL 87 pts 39 wins

Agreed?

I'd almost rather Boston miss entirely and Montreal face Washington in the first round.

I'm just laughing at how none of the players from that team are even around anymore

This was the game that Raycroft nearly buried us singlehandedly, correct?

And I love that the guy with the crazy-expensive suits still had his seats right behind our bench. It's just not a true Leafs game if he's not there... lol

That and the way the Devils scored with a few seconds left in regulation to tie it. The hockey gods had to give us just one more kick in the ribs.

Just listening to that makes me REALLY miss Bob and Harry.
And playoff hockey. So all in all it was a depressing clip.

It is funny that we are talking about missing the playoff that year, at the same time that others threads are talking about the horrible calls of Kerry Fraser...

The reason is because that year another one of Fraser's calls cost us the playoffs. In a game where the Leafs were leading 2-1 vs the Islanders in Feb, Sundin scored but the goal got called off by Fraser for incidental contact (Poni on DiPietro). The replay clearly showed that DiPietro had actually grabbed Poni's stick and was holding it when Sundin scored.

The Islanders came back to tie the game and then win in a shootout. So the game changed from 2 points for the Leafs, to 2 points for the Isle and 1 for the Leafs... Those 2 points would've gotten us into the playoffs!

Thanks Fraser... Nobody is going to miss you

Here is a description of the game and the call:
http://xtremeleafan.wordpress.com/20...int-slip-away/

PS: I realize that 1 blown call in Feb is hardly the only reason we missed the playoffs that year.. but it is fun to complain about Fraser

What's even worse about the New Jersey game is that the Devils equalized with 2 seconds left on the clock. I think I cheered louder for that goal than any Leaf goal in my entire life.

I think we all need to address this DGB tweet:
Quote:

Howard Berger: "...is there any chance Ron Wilson might pull JS Giguere in a tie-game late in regulation?" Oh man, he wouldn't... would he?
Specifically, how hilarious that would be if it somehow came to that and RW has the cajones to try it.

You know what sucks? That was the last leaf game to mean absolutely anything to any of us in terms of playoff implications. Instead, JFJ destroyed this team, and we haven't even been close since then.

Ugh. Still think that's the Leaf game I remember the most out of them all. Lost my voice watching that game alone. Sigh.
