I chose Bouillon, he may not be the best player, but he works so hard, and he's so tough, even if he is so small...

No question... Saku.

People on the other boards give us crap about loving this guy, but seriously, it has to be jealousy or something. Not only does the guy fly around out there and handle the puck as if glued to his stick, he plays "bigger" than he is, and has the heart of a pride of lions. The other teams would be lucky to find a guy who fight hard to make it back to the playoffs in the same season as fighting cancer. They'd love to have a player that can get in a "fight" with the leading scorer on the team, and turn that into a rallying point for a huge winning streak. They'd love to have a guy who never says more than two words about his play before giving all the credit to his linemates in a sincere, non-formulaic manner. They'd love a guy who can focus a team and bring them back from 3-1 against a better team (without home ice advantage). Oh, there's also the playing through injury, the inspiration, and his cool name!

Ever since Saku Koivu has played for the Habs he's been my favorite player, however, ever since i've seen Markov play, he's now become, without a doubt, my favorite Hab, and favorite player, Koivu still comes in a very, very close second...Kovalev also get honorable mention but until he's signed i'd rather not get too attached...

Mine is pretty obvious so its not like its news for anyoine. I'd have to say though that I really enjoy watching Steve Begin and Michael Ryder. Komisarek and Markov look to be guys I'll like more and more.

Looks like Patrice reads HFBoards

As for my vote... Koivu all the way! No question about it. For the reasons s7ark already listed so well.

Perhaps my fave Hab since naslund. If not moreso.

Heart- Koivu
Fun to watch- Zednik (when on his game, hes just so strong down low)
Pure talent- Kovalev (that stick handeling is just sick)
Rising talent- Ryder (look where he came from)
Physical play- Komo (wow, he hits damn hard)
Grinder- Begin
Goalie- Garon (Hey, im being honest, just love this guy)

So in simple terms, i dont have one particular fav. Every catagory has someone different for me........

I pick Ryder just because I like the guy and you have to like his dedication. Ward was close, but what the heck.
Evolution of mcphee favorites Geoffrion,Beliveau,Ferguson,Pete Mahovlich,Mario Tremblay,Mike Mcphee, Leclair, Koivu, and Ryder.

I like the evolution idea... approximately:
Lafleur, Gainey, Naslund, Nilan, Carbonneau, Keane/Leclair, Recchi, Koivu

I picked Saku because he's been the heart and soul of the team for nearly a decade. I could easily see Ryder becoming my favourite, though. He TRULY embodies everything I like about old-school Canadian hockey players, the characteristics that set them apart from other punk pro athletes: he's humble, honest (no diving -- sorry Saku; love ya, but Ryder's got you here), and has that never-say-die attitude.

My evolution: Lafleur, Gainey, McPhee, Carbonneau, Muller, Koivu, Ryder (projected).
