Doubleheader tomorrow?

Carolina, along with their eight Rats who will be returned for the AHL playoffs, play an afternoon game in Boston tomorrow. This we know.

Albany is in Glens Falls tomorrow night.

I bet it's a pretty quick flight if the Canes want to drop their Rats off in Glens Falls on the way home after the Bs game.

I know the Rats game tomorrow doesn't mean much, but it would be kinda fun. I guess I know it's not likely. It would be more likely if Albany was in Lowell or someplace closer. But I'm sure the players would love it.

I wonder if that's even allowed. I bet there is some sort of CBA clause against it.

It definitely wouldn't happen anyway. Playing youth teams two times a day is taxing enough as it is, just multiply that by a 1000ish for pro hockey players.

And no doubt there's definitely a rule in the CBA about it.

I don't know if there's a CBA rule about it, but it doesn't make sense if there's nothing to be gained from winning it. As I've said I haven't played much hockey beyond 10-15 year old street hockey ages ago, but I'd imagine an NHL game is pretty taxing. I'd be willing to bet some of the AHL fill ins could contribute more than some of these guys playing a double header.
