This is the dumbest thing he's done yet.
Clouston is a genius, Clouston is a moron, Clouston is a genius, and now back to complete moron.

I'm sure it is just the way Clouston tries to act, going from genius to moron so often. It's obviously not just the way the good ole' armchair coach views his decisions.

Clouston has gotten this team playing the way they are capable, the first good coach since the old GM was on the bench, although he benifitted from an All-Star team.

Don't worry, just let things play out in this meaningless (to the team's success, not Alfie's) game as we roll into the playoffs.

I'd start LeClaire so Elliott is healthy for the playoffs. Also so he can get into any kind of groove he possibly can in the case Elliott goes down.

It's taking place at 7, and will be 11 minutes long. Cyril Leeder said that there will be a surprise during the pre game skate.

Leclaire doesn't win very many games. He finally won one and played pretty well. His confidence must have gotten a boost after that game.
CHECK, mission accomplished.
Now you're going to risk his confidence going into the playoffs for a meaningless game while Elliott sits on the bench and gets cold? it just doesn't make any sense that's all.
No big deal i guess, just doesn't make any sense, at all.

You're looking way to far into this. Our backup goalie is getting a start for a game that won't affect us at all in the standings. Nothing strange here.

I heard a rumor they were going to clone Alfredsson only 16 years younger.

And if Elliott has a bad game 1?
What if Leclaire has 4 goals against and gets pulled? these things can happen, but don't need to. why risk it?

THE SPARTA WILL RETURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: in all seriousness, probably some part of the arena, column or something will be dedicated to Alfie like they did in Frolunda

The dedicated a mural of him this afternoon inside SBP at section 101 with his family there, mom and pop, sister and nephew

I woke up this morning and started praying that the gladiator guy would have no part in the ceremony.

What if Buffalo tries to go after our goalie and we had Elliott in nets? We don't want to risk injuring our #1 goalie in a game that won't effect us in the standings.

Well, the Alfredsson family unveiled a huge thing on the wall dedicated to Alfie. It has a whole bunch of pictures of him and a timeline of his career. It's pretty neat. It's behind section 101, and it's permanent.

I'm guessing a street outside the arena will be re-named...and that they will announce that nobody else will ever wear #11 as a Senator (and maybe retire it officially, if that's allowed).

Elliott is one win away of reaching 30 , that's an impressive number for a 25 yo goalie with under 100 games under his belt. Why wouldn't Clouston let him have that?

His legacy is better built in the playoffs anyways.

Good question. Clouston makes bad decisions sometimes. just to be unpredictable??

As a goaltender myself, I would of played that last game. But I'm 100% positive that Clouston ask Elliott if he wanted to play and Elliott didn't want to.

It's probably more Elliott's decision than Clouston's

What are you talking about? A goalie would not turn down a start. If Clouston asked Elliott if he wanted to play, he'd be playing. The coach decides who starts.

I guess Clouston really wants a fresh Elliott for the start of the playoffs.
