If Washington loses to Montreal, I'd feel pretty happy as a Rangers fan.

Our loss to Philly would have effectively knocked out New Jersey and Washington.

If the Rangers won, NJ would have faced MTL and WSH would have faced us....highly likely both NJ and WSH would have advanced, possibly rather easily

Instead NJ had to face a Philly team they were 1-5 against during the regular season, and MTL didn't have to face a NJ team that has absolutely owned them for the last decade (Brodeur's numbers vs MTL are insane I believe)

Unfortunatly buffalo got eliminated but this was on the way for game 7.

I'd also like to note, THAT is why i wanted to get in and play the sabres. If boston could man-handle them the way they did than certainly the rangers could.

I doubt it. The Rangers are an awful team that couldn't even make the playoffs in one of the worst years in Eastern Conference history.

Boston's GPG Average was ONE GOAL against us and we were 3-0-1 against them. The team that the rangers lost too to miss the playoffs, ltierally manhandled the debbies in 5.So both 6&7 seeds move on and the 8th seed COULD move on too.Call it worst, call it best, i call it entertainment.

Marc Savard has been cleared to return. He'll play in Boston's next game.

The Eastern Conference absolutely disgusts me.

To know that either Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston, Washington or Montreal will make it to the finals is awful. 5 of my 7 most hated teams. At this point, I'll be pulling for Montreal or Washington followed by Boston. The other two can rot.

Same. I think I'll have to root for whoever wins tonight. Then again, I can only imagine what it'd be like if the Habs won the Cup .

If Montreal wins tonight I may have to do the unthinkable and root for Boston .

Of course at the end of the day, I'll be rooting for the West to win the Cup.

I actually want Montreal to win so that the importance of team defense and goaltending is shown, that its much more valuable in order to advance in the playoffs.

Who are these mysterious people questioning team defense and goaltending? It's not like Washington has purposely avoided acquiring a Vezina-winner or a Chris Pronger-type.

Don't want Montreal to win. Don't want to hear their fans say, "We def owned the Rangers in the Gomez deal because we won the Cup".

The 'Yotes are looking like they are really feeling the pressure tonight. Lots of bad decisions and the Wings are making them pay for it.

Then Toronto will become jealous and offer us Kessel and Kaberle for Drury and Redden.

I guess this was inevitable, the Wings are just too skilled and experienced for the yotes. Atleast this series gave me a chance to get emotional about hockey for a little while longer.

At this rate, I should root against Montreal tomorrow night... maybe they'll win and I'll be happy?

Rooted hardcore for the Kings and 'Yotes... ended in fail

Will be rooting for Montreal tonight. However, it is going to be awfully tough for them in Washington's building. Less to do with the opposing fans, and more to do with the officiating. The referees, rarely just let these guys play anymore. It seems like anytime a star NHL player goes down in their own building, (Semin, Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, etc.) the refs feel so intimidated by the groaning going on from the crowd, that they have to make the call. I see a close game for maybe a period or so, and then a parade to the penalty box, setting up the Caps powerplay.
