Now that Ottawa is knocked out, Alfredsson and Karlsson are available. I would be surprised if Alfie accepted, but Karlsson would probably go if invited. Should he be invited?
Karlsson is fine to come and play for a spot at LGHG imo, but he is not an NHLer to go right into the WC squad. Alfie is injured so forget about him.
Engqvist from the finals, I think he has a really good chance to take a spot. The old guys I dunno about but a few of them will probably get a camp spot at least.

Reason: Added LGHG roster
I wonder what defencemen are closest to being cut. Fransson, OEL, Rundblad, Lindström?
As I see it with Karlsson coming, him, Bäckman, Johansson, Gunnarsson and Hedman are locks. Rest will probably be decided in the exhibition games and/or NHL additions.

I hope Lindström will be cut, but it will probably one of the other three since they fill the same role as offensive D-mans, while Lindström is more of a stay-at-home defencemen
Talking about stay-at-home defencemen, what are the chances of Tallinder joining the squad? I guess they're quite slim since he has never played WC at all
Tallinder hasn't declined but is doubtful. Only Olympic players in are Gustavsson, Johansson and Weinhandl so I don't expect him to come. In that regard Sanny probably has a big chance to stay.. There will still be one or two more spots though depending on 7 or 8 D, and I guess Rundblad would get the first spot out of the other three.
Is there any chance to see MPS at the WC? Or do you think he's going to be cut? Hopefully Backstrom will come too. It would be nice to see him playing with Bergfors, whom I remember he played with in his junior days at WJC.
This is a sad state of affairs. Remembering the days when Sundin and others was happy to play the world championship. This has to be the weakest Swedish team in many years.
Good news is that the last time Sweden had close to no NHL players they did quite well, the bad news is that Kenny Jönsson isn't sporting the yellow and blue this time.
I'm way out of the loop so I'll just ask; Is Junland an option? Has he been invited and declined, or not been invited at all? He's coming off a great year in the AHL, and has already played for Tre Kronor. He should be a shoe in on this roster IMO.
