No, he really is terrible.

Poor Morley Scott.

I don't know why they wouldn't hire a PROFESSIONAL, someone who's called several hundred junior or AHL games at least. We go from a Hall of Famer to Bob Stauffer? Yech. He can do colour.

Wise money would be on:

Stauffer/Play By Play
Brown/Colour

Points to ponder...
Bob didn't leave a popular afternoon drive show, which he enjoyed doing, simply to join the Oilers for a chance to do 'colour'.

Morley was dismissed by Oiler management, so the chances of him returning are about 0%. Plus he's got the Eskimo gig.

Oilers brass also appear to like Rob Brown.

Well this report from CTV says he's retiring, and I, for one, am a bit sad, he's a true legend and I'll always think of him as the Voice of the Oilers.

That says could call his final game, and it was updated around the time he was on the pre-game show saying he has not made his mind up yet. He also said that he will know what he's doing after some time off and then talking with the Oilers around the end of April and beginning of May.

Dan Tencer actually made me smile tonight when on the postgame show he reassured Oiler fans who are worried about Rod's possible departure that he (Tencer) will return next season for sure.

Oilers hockey just wouldn't be the same without Vince doing his PR ventriloquist dummy routine.
