If this isn't the play of the year, I don't know what is.

Did anyone else notice that no one from the Pens went after Kane after that. Usually when a teammate goes down, the rest of the team will come to his defense. Nobody went to Cooke's defense.

Perfect. Cooke got knock the **** out but got up wasn't severely injured. As much as I hate him, it still suck to see a guy getting injured.

100% clean hit on Crosby, Crosby whines and thinks he is above the game, crosschecks Kane and takes a penalty. Constant parade of dumb@sses go after Kane for the next 15 minutes. Kane decides he is going to have to answer for a clean hit, knocks out the dirtiest little sack of crap in the game with one beautiful punch. Instant hero.

LOL, Kane has just become 1 of my favorite players and I've only seen him play twice. Do you guys think Crosby will keep trying to cheap shot him like he was doing earlier anymore?

No one likes Matt Cooke. His teammates didn't like him in Vancouver and they don't like him in Pittsburgh.

Mike Rupp slashed Kane so many times off a faceoff at the end of the 2nd he got sent to the box.

Also, why would someone go to a teammate's defense who got knocked out in a fight? Was Kane supposed to pull his punches when Cooke was the one who wanted to go in the first place? Whole situation was a joke stemming from a clean hit that didn't even knock The King of the NHL off his little feet.

The fact that he dropped him so quickly is just epic poetry.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Evander Kane for bringing together the HFBoards community in unanimous praise for his actions.

The only way anyone would have jumped in is if Kane had instituted some "ground and pound" while Cooke was already out.

...And I might have paid to see Kane do that

THe irony is, the Pens were the one trying to ruffle Kane all before that, Cooke just happened to be the last guy. After the result, I guess they decided to leave him alone. Funny they go their feathers ruffled because of his yapping at Crosby.

STay classy, Penguins (trying to send out their goons to take of Kane)...

This finally led to Kane having enough of being a target and one punching matt cooke.

His response might not be totally correct, but you don't jump in on a clean fight....ever....

Anyone who has ever watched hockey should know that.

....but with they way kids fight these days you never know....

I agree, gloves are dropped you man up and fight your own fight, but to say that his own teamates dont like him is silly.
