Hodge on TSN is asking this question. I thought I would do something similar here.
The contenders are Det, Chi and Pit, and Wash
The pretenders are Montreal, Boston, and Flyers/Rangers
The biggest disappointments will be Vancouver and SJ
The team most likely to surprise is LA.
I'm fine with anyone except Montreal Vancouver and Ottawa (Unfortunately the three Canadian teams I like missed the playoffs), I wouldn't be able to take the cockiness from their fanbases, especially Vancouver's . I cheered for Vancouver last year, but that was only cause of Sundin; however I really do not like their fans, all hell would break loose if they won. I hope Chicago wins it though.
I say the redwings win the cup. Chicago seems like a logical pick as well, but they have goaltending questions marks and so do the wings to an extent. Luongo in my opinion has not looked good enough after the olympic break to take his team far so I say vancouver takes another second round exit. Washington does not have the goaltending to win the cup. The pens are not a bad choice, but they have a very thin blueline, that has basically two, maybe three good defenders.
I hope that no matter who wins, they have a fan base large enough to have a real impact on the happiness of a particular community, thus making life better for a decent amount of people for a little while.
EDIT: I forgot to answer the question.
I'd really like to see a Chicago Washington final. I think that would be very, very exciting.
I said Colorado would make the playoffs prior to the year starting. I put up with a lot of crap for saying it, and that run near the start shut some people up. Granted they fell a bit, but they still made it.
I feel like despite the odds, I might as well go all the way backing Colorado.
Although I think Washington or Detroit will take it. My gut has a funny feeling about the Sens.
So to sum it up: Washington or Detroit
Possibility of: Sens or Colorado (not likely)
