BOS/CGY: Iginla

Boston gets: Iginla

Calgary gets: Colborne, Boston's 1st 2010, Toronto's 1st 2011 and a salary cap consideration.

I'd only consider moving Iginla for something the Bruins aren't going to move.

In short, no.

That is a fair deal but i think boston needs to overpay to get Igilna and throwing in the Toronto 2nd round pick will do just that.

Important to also note that Iginla has a NMC, so he'll have a say in where he goes, and that could limit the field of possible suitors...

Anyone have a sense of where he might consider?

I know he tried to get Savard to come to Calgary, maybe having Savard in Boston would be a draw for him there?

And how fit his salary under the cap? We need dump at least 2 players to get enough cap space.

No, Calgary gets offended and tells Boston to go F himself.

Tell me, in what half baked brain dead retarded world does a team who lacks goal scoring trade away their leading scorer for basically zilch?

A prospect who's years away from the NHL and some picks don't help the Flames to get into the playoffs next season.

If that's what you mean then just say that in the first place! Don't call the pieces "zilch".

I like when someone talks down to another poster even though his argument is idiotic.

Calgary gets a top prospect and 2 first round draft picks. That is the greatest deal you'd ever get for Iginla. Obviously if Calgary ever traded their franchise player, it would be to rebuild. Basically getting 3 first round draft picks would be they best way to go if they decided to trade Iggy.

So the only thing half baked and retarded is you saying Calgary gets zilch in return.

If that's the best offer, I'm sure the Flames will be just fine keeping Iginla.

Wow. Denial and Anger. You definitely are a Calgary fan.

Embrace the rebuild. You'll hate yourself less later.

They probably will, as they should. Panicking and trading away their franchise player isn't the right move. Hopefully Iginla retires with the Flames. But the package offered is more than fair market value.

I like it...but what about freeing up that 7+ million to fit Iggy under?

Aka... what to do with Wideman and Ryder

That is a huge overpayment, I honestly might not even trade Krejci for him straight up.

Bruins need 3 young assets, as good as Iginla is that woulnd't be a smart deal for the Bruins considering how ****** they've been this season.

If Iggy is getting traded, and is willing to waive his NMC clause to a few teams, Boston might be it. He and Ference are still really close or so I hear.

Not saying I want Iggy moved, but for the sake of discussion....

I think the B's take it if they end up with Seguin at the draft.

While it's probably fair, there's no way Boston would offer that. Krejci is already a high level NHLer, Colbourne is a top Center prospect, and the 1st is likely mid-teens. I'm not saying it's not fair value, but if Boston puts Krejci in then one of Colbourne or the 1st needs to get downgraded.

This is more than enough to get Iggy. Torontos first, Colborne and Ryder would do the trick imo.

this proposal

is as equivalently bad as the ones trying to send Penner and/or Hemsky to BOS.
