True, but after the Double OT win to make it 3-1 I thought the Caps were done. You kinda got the same feeling on Tuesday after Carcillo's goal.

I dont think the Caps ever quit in that series and look like a beaten team the way the Devils did the other night.
I think if we score first tonight and especially if we can get a 2 goal lead early its over.

As dejected as the Devils looked the other night, I also fully expect them to come out flying tonight, especially at home. Although, I can agree that if we score a couple early goals, the air will most likely get sucked out of them. It could go either way. And something tells me not to expect Marty to stand on his head tonight either. I think he's all but spent.

Agree on Marty. I dont think he will have a great game tonight. I'm hoping we light him up so bad that he decides to retire!

Hey! So this is what a playoff series without a series of coaching blunders looks like!

Random thoughts...

1. Booooooosh
2. Richie looked like a leader
3. Carcillo deserves his success
4. Lappy - just look at the blood dripping from his face
5. Giroux - going to be a huge part of our future
6. Pronger - earning his salary, reminders me of a better hatcher
7. Timonen - solid.
8. Carl/Coburn - can step up.
9. The rest of the team stepped up (except one player)
10. Betts was solid and crucial to our series win without question
11. Leino should be *seriously* considered in place of Hartnell if Harts doesn't soon step up soon
12. JVR looked more impressive tonight with the additional ice time
13. We have confidence

LAST - The media blows! I assume all of their locker room diversity magically disappeared and now they are all best friends since they are winning

i like all of those above notes. i didn't expect this series to go nearly as well as it did. im seriously impressed with everyone but hartnell.

did anyone catch ashams shenanigans last game? twice, he pissed off devils players to the point where they dropped gloves, then he skated off to rejoin the play and left the deb to gather his belongings. i thought that was hilarious.

I'm surprised that happened twice since it was obvious Asham was trying to draw the penalty. I guess that is frustration boiling over for the Devils!

It's small things like that from Veteran players that can make such a huge difference.

of all the moments from that game, those two were my favorite. asham didnt even honestly consider fighting. the second the gloves his the ice he was already turning around to skate off....and with the way the reffing has gone im shocked nothing was called.

I mentioned this in the game 5 GDT, but check out Brodeur as he shakes Boucher's hand (around the 9:30 mark):

Is that a "What can you do?"

Saw this from euroflyers:

"I have no explanation on why we lost. It was a shame. We outplayed the Flyers completely. I put most of the blame on myself." - Kovalchuk.

Sorry Kovy, ya didn't.

Jesus. And funnily enough, he was actually one of the few goes (along with Zubrus, Greene, and Brodeur) who showed up - so the second part doesn't make any sense, either.

This is what he said on NJ.com:
Quote:
“Our power play couldn’t get the job done. It’s unbelievable. We had 6-7-8 power plays every night and we couldn’t put the puck in. That was the difference.”

Haven't seen this photo before:

I almost think it tops the Classic Gagne orgasm photo.

Or this one:

You can literally see Carcillo's mind implode from being unable to comprehend what he just did.
