2g 1a, +3 for eberle today

Spr lays a beatdown on the monarchs, 7-3.

Eberle with 11 games 6g-8a-14pts and -2 this year, 20 games with 23 points (9g) total, -7.

Very un-Springfield like of him, to say the least.

I'd also say playing with a top-3 scorer in the whole AHL was huge for him.

Linglet? He's been up with the Oilers for a while, no?

The AHL = American Hockey League

This is the minor league for The NHL.

You know, we do have both a Springfield thread and a prospects thread stickied up there.

As mentioned, Linglet has been up with the big club for a significant portion of Eberles AHL stint.

Nice job by da kid. He will be pretty good I think. Not 50 goals but probably 30ish.

Just pulled up the box score and saw that Oli Roy got the win in that game. I wasn't aware they signed him to a tryout contract. I believe that it is his first profesional victory, though. Congrats to hom.

Minard is no slouch himself folks. Eberle definitely got to play with some very good offensive AHL linemates in his time down there. That said he made some great plays. We'll see how he looks at TC in September. Hopefully he gets to play in the WC's in the meantime, that should tell us a lot about how close he really is.

Right but we're talking about 1 proven scorer. Not to mention he's on the worst team in the AHL.

Minard, the guy who came up to the Oilers and did nothing? I'm pretty sure he'll play with better guys next year. Wether its here or in OKC.

And how is Linglet doing? There is a difference between the AHL and the NHL, some players can never bridge that gap. The bottom line is that Linglet and Minard are both very good AHL players and since Eberle is currently playing in the AHL it is relevant don't you think? BTW-Wiseman doesn't appear to be much of a slouch himself.

Just because a player isn't that great in the NHL, doesn't mean they are bad in the AHL either.

That is the truth, look at Krog as an example, he's Crosby at the AHL level and crap at the NHL level. The difference of course is that the younger you are the better of a chance that it translates to the NHL.
