We'll see just how quickly "refreshing" turns to "why doesn't he just keep his mouth shut" when we have to hear how disappointing the team is after every single game next season, with no constructive criticism offered. His only good comment was "at least we have better players coming on the farm." Not a ringing endorsement of the current players on the team.

Am I the only one who thinks that a leader should be inspiring and not just critical?

Whitney has offered no constructive criticism since he has got here, and if he continues to just rip into the team after losses players will get tired of his act. No way should he be captain.

I've been critical of Whitney as a player, but he's really impressed me as a leader since he's been here. I don't know if giving a guy in his first year with the team the C, but I wouldn't mind seeing him with an A.

If you ask me, Horcoff makes the most sense as the next Oiler captain.

Whitney needs an A for sure. The C is going to be up for grabs for awhile I'd say.
