We need to make sure that Tampa doesn't take the best coach available at the moment - whomever that may be. I think Michal Therrien could be a good fit for this team.
With the current ownership, I don't think anyone has to worry about that. Tampa may be the only team whose ownership is worse than Atlanta's.

Considering Tampa was just sold late this season, not sure how you can say they suck. You can say that the Len Barrie ownership group sucked but not the current group. I think the current group is doing the right thing, dump the dead weight, in Atlanta's case, Waddell.

I didn't realize that was finalized. It certainly explains them hosing out the stables.
Curious if Dudley does get GM and if there is the expected turnover in NY if he hires his long-time friend and former assistant John Tortorella would be a candidate....

I can't see why any of you guys would be happy about this. The consensus amongst Panthers fans is that Rick Dudley had set back our franchise about 10 years in rebuilding with his handling of trades and drafts.

Interesting. From an outsider's point of view, I always thought Keenan was more to blame.

Well, considering that with Waddell we've gone nowhere, can Dudley really be that much worse?
I'd still rather keep Dudley in the position he's in, and bring in a new GM altogether.

dudley is one of the best talent evaluators around but when it comes to negotiating trades and deals he is not nearly as proficient. that's why i'd like things to stay how they are. we seem to be on the right track right now, so i don't see why we would change it.
the coaching is the problem right now, not the gming.
The GM not the problem?? HA! He should of been fired years ago and now he's finishing a season in which he missed the playoffs AGAIN with the highest payroll in team history and lost the star and face of the franchise because of constant sucking. Yeah... He's a problem.

I think perhaps you are missing the point that Rhodes is making.
I think he got out GMed by Burke and Team USA as far as team building goes, can't deny that the lesser-skilled team performed almost on par with Team Canada due to chemistry and hard work.

I'm in agreement with that.

I'm not saying his success there should mean more than anything else, but to me that's what most of the hype he has generates from.
