I think it is fine if fans have a dis-like for Theo, he is a former Hab and didn't exactly leave at the top of his game or on a high note media wise from his off ice issues or his fathers.
Fans are allowed to have that view, do I dis-like him? No, but that doesn't mean I won't be hoping he fails miserably against the Habs.
Fans will respect his loss of a child, people have to realize that athletes are human too and deal with everyday issues and some tragedies as we do as well.
O'Byrne lost his mother to cancer this year too, I don't think the Cap forwards are going to let up on him in the corners and the Cap fans will do their best to boo him as they would all other Hab fans too.
I don't dislike him. He was my hero when he had those magical seasons with us and he didn't offend the fans or the organization...he just started majorly sucking. Seems he's rebounded to 60% of what he was before. He's not a horrible goalie by any stretch of the imagination, but then again I doubt he'll pull a Varlamov-like performance from last year (we might see Varlamov ftm).
I do, however love the Habs more so right now, no I do not like him at all. Over the series I may grow to vehemently dislike him. Hopefully not. Hopefully I'll love him for giving up the series winning goal.
I never hated him, I was always very dissapointed with the way he went from a hart trophy winner to a backup goalie seemingly overnight. Still though he's never pulled a latendresse and *****ed about the organization.
