Kris Russell Named to Team Canada Roster for 2010 World Championship
Quote:
COLUMBUS, OHIO – Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Kris Russell was among a first group of 15 players named to Team Canada's roster for the 2010 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championships, the Blue Jackets and Team Canada General Manager Mark Messier announced April 16. Additional players will be added to the Team Canada roster after the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The tournament will be held from May 7-23 in Cologne, Mannheim and Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
That is good news, I don't have a heck of a lot of interest in this event after the Olympics but Russell will play with a bunch of talented guys..., excellent experience for him.
Safe to say that Kris Russell does not care about the value of a college education?
This event is sort of second fittle to the Olympics when both are held in the year imo.. If I put myself in RJ's shoes I'd finish the degree and relax from hockey for awhile, we'er going need him clicking at 100% next year both physically and mentally.
Awesome news for Russell. His career really is starting to look as bright as he sun. I think we have a future all-star just as he was advertised a few years ago. DM got it very right with this kid.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Great stuff to see. Russ should be a top 4 guy to start next season and this is validation that he has begun to blossom. Can't wait to see what else he can do here as he gets older.

He needs to continue to work on bulk and strength... He gets beat on the boards when body to body, but I do admit-the kid is deft at moving the puck anywhere on the ice surface to avoid confrontation with the big forwards. If possible he should schedule a week vacation with Rafalski to pick his brains.
