Well, not cheap as in less than 1 million or some delusional price, but cheaper than 3.5. Signing him with the unknown of whether he can play without getting another concussion is risky business, as we already have one injury prone d-man on our blueline, and that's one too many imo.
I think Gillis will probably try to get someone who he knows can play a full season (well, to an extent, as injuries can happen anytime, anywhere).
I'd be willing to go to 3 million, but only for 1 year.
Pre-concussion I would have offered him 2 more years @ same price, but that kind of injury is tricky to ascertain.
If he's out all playoffs I think we may have seen his last game as a Canuck. We'll see how it all plays out. It would be incredible if he makes it back soon.
