damn refs... just kidding - we lost, thats that!

it's gonna be OK, I promise... in the mean time, watch the Flames vs. Sharks. It's gonna be one hell of a series... and if that bores you, go watch the exciting hockey TBay plays and watch them sweep the Flyers... good times!

That would explain all the blood on his jersey.

I taped the game and I watched that play a few times.

Mats was skating into the Flyers end with the puck. Zhamnov and Ragnarsson both converged on him and one of them (can't tell which) gave Sundin a stick in the face causing Mats to lose the puck. Roenick scored seconds later.

The play should have been whistled dead and we should have had a four minute power play. Oh well.

Iam sitting here thinking withen less then two min the Refs blew 6 or more calls which could have been the difference
  1. the two line pass
  2. the off side
  3. the high stinck 4 min power play
  4. and i dont think it was but tucker chargeing
  5. and the flyers thouched the puck three or four times before sami got off the ice
  6. and #25 came on the ice to help out sami which is not allowed no matter how hurt someone is

What's up with high sticks and playoffs disappointments for the Leafs?

If the refs would have done their job, it wouldn't have been a close game. Flyers deserved a lot more powerplays than they got.

I don't think Keith being out there for 1 second would have warranted a penalty.

Maybe early in the game, but at the end of the 3rd period and in overtime, the Flyers got away with A LOT.

I swear in the last few minutes of the third period, every time Sundin was in the Flyers zone someone was giving him a bear hug. Not to mention he was hauled down an a two-on-one with no call. Not to mention he was speared in the face.

I don't blame the Flyers though. If they can get away with it, more power to them. I was actually yelling at the Leafs to do more of the same to the Flyers.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.

Get over it, the Leafs didn't deserve to win the series.

I agree. It's a shame the Leafs didn't take advantage of the lack of officiating going on. It was pretty much anything goes out there late in the game, and if the Leafs had been selective enough to run Jeremy Roenick instead of Sami Kapanen, we might be gearing up for game 7. I mean, the only reason why there was a 2 on 1 in the first place was because our point man was mugged from behind anyway. Oh well, I hope the Lightning smoke those Flyers next round.

I agree. I said before the game that if the Leafs let the Flyers win the series at the ACC, they didn't deserve to win anyway.

This is true, and also, the game 5 effort was just inexcusable. After that game, I didn't think they deserved to win anymore. There's no excuse for a 7-2 loss under any circumstances, let alone in the playoffs.

Not when one one thier players are hurt, the refs could see that Sami was hurt play should have stopped when the puck touched a flyer stick!

Does'nt matter the rule book clearly states
Quote:
s)A bench minor penalty shall be imposed on a Team whose player(s) leave the players' bench for any purpose other than a change of players and when no altercation is in progress.

For God's sake, we aren't making excuses! We're pointing out that a player got high sticked and no penalty was called! Why don't you get your facts straight? I hope that TB slaughters your team!

Don't get too much into the Sundin thing as he did give a Flyer a punch in the face early in the game. I dont have much of a problem with that, it's playoffs and a punch won't kill someone, but these things go both ways. As for Prims leaving the bench, I never saw his skate hit the ice and it was away from the play. Both teams had missed calls against them, the Flyers just won the series.

Not trying to start an argument here, but did that Flyer need 10 stiches?

I think the vast majority of us here believe that the Flyers deserved to win the series- regardless of the officiating.

But we still have the right to complain about some blatant missed calls.
