Good for you guys! So much history with the Sioux name. Leave it alone.

Screw the NCAA. Maybe they should focus on people like Cam Newton, Jim Tressel and Jim Calhoun instead of being politically correct with you guys.

I totally agree. There is so much corruption going on in big time football and basketball it isn't even funny.
Clean that crap up first before they worry about a nickname, especially a nickname that our state is 80% behind including one tribe and if then other tribe was allowed to vote on it they would support it too.

Good luck to your Wolverines next thursday.Should be a great game between 2 teams that are rich in tradition and national titles.

What Frattin did to comeback to the Sioux is pretty incredible.

I think it's safe to say the team choked tonight. I saw your post in the Michigan thread about him being overrated. Not sure what you have against him, but he was still the best player on the ice not named Hunwick tonight. I hope you have Versus or a Fox Sports channel so you can see how overrated he is in the near future.

Just got back from the rink!! What a game!!

I don't think Frattin is overrated, but I do think Hunwick and Merrill were the best players on the ice tonight. Merrill was an animal in the defensive zone and his heads up play led to Michigan first goal.

Hell of a game, Sioux fans.

You must have been watching a different game than I was. While Michigan did focus a lot on the Trupp-Malone-Frattin line (or whatever line he was on after Nelson was injured) he still played well. It's a single-elimination tournament and a hot goalie can always lead a team to victory.

That two weeks off really does Nodak in. Seems like they do this almost every trip to the frozen four. Coach Hack should schedule a scrimage the week before and just keep things rolling.

With the nice weather and everything else it must be hard to keep any one focused. I know they are athletes and its a national championship week end. Athletes are human too and get distracted no matter what.

Chalk up another North Dakota alum NHL signing, Frattin has signed with the Maple Leafs and will play with the team against Montreal tomorrow night.

I agree with what you said but I think Rust was the best player on the ice for you guys besides Hunwick. The guy won draws, outworked everyone and played a a hell of a defensive game. Frattin had a few good looks as did the rest of the team but I have never seen the Sioux miss the net so many times. I really do think they were feeling the pressure. Oh and the Michigan penalty kill was fantastic. I have never seen a more agressive kill all year and the Sioux didn't have an aswer for it. Chalk one up for Red for having his boys ready. Going to be interesting to see how UMD does against that kill. Congrats to the Wolverines and good luck in the final.

Good for him. Might as well reward him for a strong season. The scope will be very fine playing for the Marlies next year.

Quote from Malone:
“I came in as a little boy and I’m leaving as a more mature and wise kid,” Malone said. “This place definitely changed my life drastically. This is the best place in the world. I don’t think anyone fully realizes how great it is until it gets taken out from under you. Obviously, everyone knows we wanted to win it this year. But besides the wins and losses, everything here was first class and I don’t think words can ever describe what it did for me.”

Going to miss his physical play and winning huge faceoffs. He will be in the big show in a matter of a year or 2.

Sounds like Hextall is as good as gone and Blood isn't to far behind. Also heard that Kristo will be back. Nothing on Gregoire yet.
