Wow, laughing at racism. Aren't you a coach? Is that what you teach your kids.
When you're old enough to have kids of your own, are you going to instill in them the same kind of anthropormistic, human racism exhibited by you in not railing against the use of gophers as a mascot? Like you, will they grow up to support an institution that would take Human Racism a step even lower by de-animalizing a living, breathing creature, assigning them a dead mineral attribute like "golden"? Goldy the Gopher? Is he supposed to be cute? funny? Well, tell that to the thousands of martyr-gophers that fling themselves in front of cars on our roadways each year to protest that demeaning caricature. Yeah, real funny.
So get down off your pretentious, high horse kiddo and take a look in the mirror. Human Racists attempting to school others on who-thinks-what is a form racism have no credibility whatsoever. The thoughtless, insensitive use of animals as mascots for human race purposes isn't any less offensive in certain circles. Survey all the badgers of Wisconsin and you'll find plenty of opposition to the exploitation of their species as well.
Oh, what's that? You dont' care what burrowing animals think? Or maybe you think they don't think at all? Well there you go. Those kind of rationalizations are the foundation of racism in all its manifestations. The Human form is no less ugly.
And your location? "Minneapolis"? That's expoiting a Dakota word and making matters worse by corrupting it with Greek. Anyone as sensitive and concerned with maintaining the purity of proud Native American heritage as you present yourself to be would surely be working on changing that name as well, assuming you aren't a hypocrite, that is. Here's an idea; clean up your own messy house first.
In the meantime, change your name. "Mn" gets a pass but using "gopher" in the context you do is like the N-word to me, a Human Racist slur representing exploitation and a form of slavery.

I don't remember hearing his name on tv. Sounds like they were just playing it safe with Knight. I guess the good thing about last was all goals were scored by freshman.
Knight is listed as day to day, Rodwell is out indefinitely, I will let you update us on Roco Grimaldi. Three really isn’t much on Derek Forbort, apparently according to Coach Hakstol they won’t know much until he gets back from the WJC.
Was at the game on Saturday night and Loved what I saw out of the Kristo-Nelson combo. Rowney looked like garbage with them, but it didn't matter as Kristo was on his game.

That line needs Knight no doubt but with the all the injuries the Sioux have suffered I'm sure Hak is trying anyone with them and see what clicks. Sounds like Knight will be back as it was mainly a cautionary thing by keeping him out. I can see that line carrying this team a long ways and it was also nice seeing the freshman step up the last 2 games.

Knight is back in again on Saturday in the game against Clarkson?

True that...
On a separate note, here's the view from my parents new townhouse. I know you'll appreciate this dakota:
Sioux Head Coach Dave Hakstol announced today that sophomore forward Derek Rodwell will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.
Rodwell hurt his left shoulder in Sioux's Dec. 30 game against Harvard and will have season-ending surgery later this month.
Derek had one goal and one assist in 19 games this season. As a freshman last season, he appeared in 39 games and registered five goals and four assists to help lead UND to Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) regular season and playoff championships.
Rodwell was a fifth-round draft pick, 144th overall, of the Devils in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Always feel bad for a guy who has to miss an extended part of a season. Something you can't ever get back.
It was good. A strange melee of Sioux colours mixed in with locals wearing Jets stuff. There were also a lot of kids at the game; I suspect people and their families were lured in by the low ticket prices compared to the Jets. Make no mistake, though, this definitely felt like a UND home game. The crowd was UND-friendly and attendance was around 7,000. Only the lower bowl of the arena was opened and the upper deck was covered by a curtain. The local kids loved the UND band, by the way.
Regarding the actual game, Clarkson started out strong and put together a pretty well organized defence in the first period. They managed to score a dirty goal in front of goal after UND's defence fell apart. From the beginning of the second period onward though, UND took over and just controled play through sheer ability. They looked good, but I think it was more that Clarkson just couldn't handle them. It was 2-1 right until the last minute of the game, but it really wasn't that close in terms of actual play.
The Winnipeg Jets' owner Mark Chipman was a UND grad back in the day, and I suspect that he was pushing rather hard to have the Sioux play at the MTS Centre. I would definitely not be surprised if UND plays in Winnipeg more often in the future. I'd certainly buy tickets again.

had such a good time at the MTS Center im thinking about driving down to watch a few UND games. Question for you guys how hard is it to score some tickets to big games vs Minnesota/Wisconsin/Michigan ect.

Minnesota is a tough one. But there are tickets for sale from season ticket holders on siouxsports.com. Other than that the usual would be ticketmaster or stub hub. I'm a season ticket holder myself with 2 seats and can't use mine all the time because of my coaching duties. You can check with me if you would like.
Didn't see the beating the Sioux took from the goofs last night as I was coaching my team but the Sioux needed at least 3 if not 4 points. Lost a little respect for Blood as he didn't respect the handshake in hockey last night. Don't need that crap ever.
