It's pretty much a toss up IMO. Both teams technically have "home ice" in this one. Both are superb teams. I sure hope the Gophers win though as two (UMD and the Gophs) MN teams in the Frozen Four would be sweet.

Gophers will sure to be fired up after what happened last week. Can't get behind like that again.

Is this only on stupid ESPNU, that no one has?

Well, and online...

Why can't FSN carry it? The Wild are on NBCSports...

I was saying the same thing about UMD and UM yesterday. They put on all the East Coast games but we couldn't find the games at the X or Green Bay. WTF??!?!!

Hell, you'd think NBC would love to cover this... being the best hockey tournament of the year and all.

As big a hockey fan I am it's just not going to grab the ratings, I believe. Especially not when the NCAA basketball tourney is on at the same time as well. It's pretty bad though when it's on ESPN 2 and ESPN 3 and you can't get the games/teams from your region. WTF???!!

Why are we playing so sloppy?

This is bad. D are not playing their man, and the O can not get a pass onto tape to save their lives...

First off, what a great run for UND. Considering all of the key injuries they had and how far they were able to go, gotta tip my hat to them.

The biggest thing that I noticed for much of the game today was that UND seemed to be a step behind the Gophers. Minnesota won the lion's share of the puck battles and UND just didn't get a whole lot of quality shots on Patterson. On the broadcast, my friend Dave Starman noted that a number of UND's passes weren't crisp and that they were making too many defensive lapses. And I have to agree with him. Now maybe fatigue had set in or whatever, but the dominating performance that I saw of UND in the Final Five just wasn't there tonight. I give props to the Gophers though, they really wanted this thing and just took it to UND. I didn't think Patterson was spectacular, but he made the necessary saves to get the win. Dell, on the other hand, didn't look as good as he did in the Final Five. Frankly, I think the best UND player by far in the game was Kristo. He was just a man possessed out there. Too bad the rest of them couldn't match his intensity and hunger tonight.

Kristo? The kid gave up halfway through the third period. He may have had a good game prior to that but when I see any player throwing in the towel before the game is over I don't care what he did before that. I will bet my house he is gone just by the way he played the last 10 minutes of that game.

This will go down as one of the most memorable seasons in my book. My gut said before the game last night that it was the gophers turn to turn the tables. Law of averages usually comes out when these 2 teams play. Gophers were a step ahead all night and our D looked a step slow. Not a good recipe and it showed. The Sioux will be back in the hunt next year and hopefully with a full squad this time around. Proud as hell to be a Sioux fan.

My gut says Jones will go the pro route. Gut has been wrong before though.

You really thought Kristo gave up? I thought he was our best player yesterday throughout the game.

with pro route, are you taslking about the CHL?

the CHL might be the quicker way for him to get to the pros, but college is the better route for him long term with training, practicing, weight and strength building, etc...

I like top American blueliners to go the college route, and top American forwards the CHL route...just my opinion on it, but Jones has a tough decision to make...needs to make it pretty damn quickly! I would assume after the U18 tourney he makes his big announcement

Brad Schlossman has said that he thinks he will make it before the U18 tourney.

I watched the whole game and the one UND player that stood out to me (I'm in the TC here and rarely watch the UND) was the Kristo kid. He was the most impressive player in white/green that game, IMO.

Until the last 10 minutes then he threw in the towel. Instead of stopping and starting he was doing the big lazy loop. His body language told me right there that he will be moving on. Of course I don't think he should as he needs to bulk up more as far as I'm concerned but as we all know money talks.

He played great for 50 minutes then the last 10 not so much. I kept my eye on him after I saw his first lazy loop. Yes he threw in the towel at that point.

Not sure I saw it, but I did see a TEAM that probably realized that was the end of their year. If you're down X amount of goals at a certain point in a game I suppose we've all at one point or another dealt with it our own way (lazy, depressed, upset, etc.)

I have been coaching this great game for over 25 years. I have always told my players you play hard to the final buzzer regardless of the score. Your team and school deserve that much. When I saw him floating out there it didn't settle well with me. Go to the end. Period.

Again, I didn't see him "floating," but maybe I just missed it; maybe, in fact, you are implying he wasn't trying and are in fact wrong in your opinion. Whatever. No big deal really. You have your opinion, I have mine.

Yep. Fair enough. If everyone agreed this would be a dull world.

A few questions.

Saw Kristo, Nelson, Knight, Blood and Forbort out there seemed like all the time. I know you have to play your stars when it gets tight but was it really that tight the last month? Is that also a draw to playing in Nodak under Hack you get all the ice time you can handle if you deserve it. Does Hack change up?

Who are you losing? Sounds Kristo is pre checked out. What about Forbort, Nelson, Knight, and what is the status of Rocco? I cannot see Dell leaving, but his numbers did fall and he might get his best deal now. Like Duncan missed out on.

What is the incoming class looking like?

As far as ice time goes Hak didn't have much choice with all the injuries. He had 17 skaters which 2 were D that had to play forward. Just the way things shook out this year.

My good source up in Grand Forks has informed me they all may be coming back and that includes Kristo. Time will tell but if that happens they should be loaded for bear next season. Rocco will be at 100% come next fall as will O'Donell and Rodwell. Hak has another top 5 recruiting class coming in so things are looking good even if a few of em leave early.
