Seth Jones is WHL bound. Pretty much saw this coming. At least he didn't commit to the Sioux and then decommit come July like JT Miller did.He handled the whole situation with class.

Yeah, can't fault the guy. Probably would have been 1 and done at the best anyway.

The NCAA really has to get their **** together tho. College hockey in general has lost a lot of talent lately. If they want to remain in the talks as one of the best developmental leagues they have to do something to compete with the CHL.

Cary Eades is now the head coach and GM in Sioux Falls for their USHL team. He will turn that program around. They got a good one.

Looking like Brad Berry will be the next assistant coach for the Sioux. I really can't see anyone else getting it.

If NJ were to win The Cup, UND & BC would tie Wisco for the most alums to have their names engraved as players. Wisco has 11, BC & UND 9.

First time in Stanley Cup finals that both captains are USA born. Parise of course was a Fighting Sioux but also alternate captain for the Kings Matt Greene is also a former Fighting Sioux. Gotta believe that is a first also that both teams have captains from the same college.

I have no connection to North Dakota whatsoever, but it's a borderline witch hunt.

eh, I guess that my favorite school, the University of Illinois, lucked out nickname-wise. We had to get rid of the Chief, but could keep the Fighting Illini moniker because the name actually came from Illinois WWI veterans, not the former tribe that the state's named after.

Guess that means that the Blackhawks would've been safe after they got rid of the logo if they were in the NCAA, as the team name's from a WWI infantry division (sensing a common-theme for Illinois sports teams with Native American imagery) and not Chief Black Hawk.

Any ideas on the possible replacement names or timetable for what UND's going to consider yet?

Haven't heard anything as far a replacement name. Could go nameless forever as far as I'm concerned.

Nice to see Zach Parise go to the right Minnesota team this time and he did make the right decision both times. Maybe now some minny fans won't be so bitter towards him now that he is a Wild player.

Believe it or not I have a couple of buddies who are gopher fans who are not Parise fans just because he played for the Sioux. Unbelievable.I myself follow any player from the WCHA regardless of who he played for. Haters are gonna hate I guess. Crappy way to go through life.
