Here's an article on a future Sioux, Mark MacMillan ('11) he was traded this off-season in the BCHL to the Penticton Vees, one of the top programs in the BCHL. Plus he's from there so he gets to go back home for a year before leaving for North Dakota next summer.

What alternate names are being bandied about? They must have something lined up on a provisional basis since a year is a very short time for this sort of thing.

I haven't heard anything being tossed around and I would not be surprised if they went with just North Dakota for awhile. Just my hunch.

What sucks about that is it seems like the only thing stopping them from keeping the Sioux name are a handful of people in the native american community.
Hopefully they come up with some cool new name.

That would be the worst name ever.

What about the logo? Could they just call them the "North Dakota Fighting Dakotans" and make the logo more racially ambiguous?

IMO It's just going to be the University of North Dakota with a logo like the one on this football helmet:

It's not that bad. One thing I do know is that I'm loading up on Sioux merchandise when I go back home for t-giving/X-mas.

Even when the name/logo changes, you can bet your ass the Ralph will still be filled to the brim with Sioux apparel

And then there's the Golden goofups: HOLYYY CROSSSSS

It seems like a lot of No Dak fans are planning on loading up on Sioux gear and boycotting the new stuff when it comes out.

I'm way ahead of most fans.I have over 20 jersyes,leather coat,banners,tshirts,shoes,and on and on. I will wear my Sioux gear to games as long as I am alive.

This is one among 20 Sioux jerseys that I own. Obviously my fav since it is signed by the 05-06 team.

Nice! I'm still debating on whether or not I should get one of the new Reebok jerseys. I'm leaning toward yes, but we'll see. Only a few more months then I can load up on more apparel.

I see the Susie-Giouxn merchandise is being marked up on e-bay, most notably a jersey signed by Sarah Palin, one of the stupidest f***ing people wasting our oxygen, which is going for 5 Gs. The vintage sweaters are pretty sharp, I have to say.
