A so so effort by the Sioux tonite. Had spurts of pure domination and had spurts where they looked a bit lost. Gregoire the best player on the ice tonite and Forbort was probably the best freshman. 5-2 win over Manitoba in front of 10,000 somewhat quiet fans. Tough to get worked up for an exibition game.
To break up the hockey talk here is a pic of my son with his first ever pheasant kill this past saturday. He is now hooked on it like I have been for years.

He belongs.Looks like he will fit right in with the Sioux.Of course I saw him for 1 exibition game against Manitoba but I think he will have a good freshman year.
Let the season begin.Enough of this exibition crap.Sioux have the Nanooks of Fairbanks tonite.I need a nap now as the game won't start here until 11:07 but is on TV on FSSN.

A bit disappointed in last nights game as the Sioux blew a 4 goal led against UAA. The supposed strength of the Sioux being their D forgot to show up.Eidsness was hung out to dry on more than one occassion and the odd man rushes the Sioux gave up were unacceptable. Early wake up call for the Sioux but I don't care what time of the year it is you just don't give up a 4 goal lead to anybody. The Sioux did win the shootout 2-1 but the game still goes down asd a tie.
I know this has nothing to do with Sioux hockey but my son and I pheasant hunted with Dustin Byfugliens uncle fron Roseau today. My buddy who lives 20 miles south of here told me he was going to have 3 of his old college buddies over from Minnesota to hunt with him this weekend but didn't mention any names. So we meet them and they all have Byfuglien Trucking hats on.So of course I ask if he is related to Dustin and he says nonchalantly that he is my nephew. Then the stories began. My son was all ears. Of course he got to have a private party with the Cup and drank champagne out of it. Anyways it's a small world and even though we didn't get our limit in roosters it was still a great day.
Didn't get to see the game last nite because I was at a concert but fom what I read it was pure domination by the Sioux over Alaska-Fairbanks. Sioux won 3-1 and only gave up 15 shots and were hitting AF players at every chance. Gregoire was the tourney MVP and that doesn't surprise me one bit.Like I said he will lead this team in scoring when all is said and done. Great comeback after friday nights collapse against Anchorage. Now it is time to open the new rink in Bemidji next friday.
The Sioux hockey bus got rear ended on the way up to Bemidji today. Luckily noone was hurt and the team had to unpack and get on another bus.Hopefully this is the only bad thing to happen up in Beaverland.

That happened to my bro last week, said the bump felt less than a hockey check, I'm sure it just made the Sioux think of Beaver hunting!!
Also kinda sad this isn't on FSSN and FSC, not every day does a new hockey arena open, would have been nice to see the BREC on TV.
haha. These things we disagree on...they're not bad
I'll be at the Notre Dame series when I'm home for t-giving. We may have to meet up for a beer at the game (if you're going).
Oh I'm sure I will be there. My girls high school team I coach has no games that weekend and I am waiting to see about my sons bantam game schedule. For sure I will be up for saturdays game if not both.
Fighting Sioux women sweep the Minnesota Gphers after winning today 3-1 at Ridder Arena. This should put them in the top 5 for the first time in their history.
Didn't realize this but this is the first time in Hakstols 7 years as head coach that he opened up WCHA play with a sweep. Understandable I suppose considering the slow starts his teams have had in those 7 years.Different year this time around.
What is going on with Kristo? I thought he would dominate this year, yet only 1 point in 4 games. It is obviously still early. Has the incident affected him?

He had his moments where he dominated with the puck on his stick last nite.Just isn't finishing right now.The incident has nothing to do with his slow start in my opinion. He will be just fine.
