No surprise but Matt Frattin was named WCHA offensive player of the week after scoring 4 goals in the 2 wins over Bemidji last weekend. He has been nothing short of fantastic so far this season.Expect more to come.

Not the start the Sioux wanted. Down 2-0 and staring at a 5 minute PK..

Back to the drawing board for the Sioux. What a nightmare of a period.

Sioux got their butts handed to them tonite by Maine 7-3.5-0 after 1 and it was over.Gotta admit though they do call a tighter game out east. Not blaming the refs at all but they let more stuff go out this way.It is hockey afterall.

I have all the confidence in the world that they'll bounce back tomorrow night...

About the only positive tonight was Devils draft pick Rodwell's SH goal. So nice. That kid had friggin WHEELS.

Maine is a pretty good team...I've got them pegged to win HE this year. This was not a good matchup for ND after so much travel and Maine going through the letdown against Sparty last weekend. I expect the game tomorrow to be a lot tighter.

I didn't expect the Sioux to win last night for the fact of all the travel they have had.It will be 7300 total miles for the first 3 weeks.I expect the Sioux to come out flying tonite with a chip on their shoulder. They have to stay out of the box but man some of those penalties on them last night were for checking and that's it.They are just going to have to adjust and go from there.

Yeah I know it's early and all that crap but the Sioux have done it again.Just 1 win against Maine would of helped them down the road when the pairwise means something but they put themselves behind the 8 ball right away again by getting swept by Maine. This happens every year since Hakstol has been coach. I do not want to see them sent out east again come playoff time but this weekend doesn't help matters any.

I was going to post this in the Miami thread below...the dude is pretty lucky considering all the vital spots the skate missed. That's a nightmare scenario, especially after seeing Clint Malarchuk's gruesome injury....not to mention Richard Zednik, both incedents occurring during a Sabre's game, incidentally. Hopefully Mr. Weber will be back on the ice soon.

Half day of work then heading up to Grand Forks for the Sioux/Denver series. This has gotten to be a heated rivalry ever since the Pauckovich hit from behind on Bina 5 years ago.I expect a very physical series but the Sioux will come out on fire since this is their home opener and take it to to the Pioneers 6-2 on friday and win a tight game saturday 3-2.

North Dakota received two more commitments from NTDP players in '93 forward J.T. Miller and '94 forward Stefan Matteau.

Nice win by the Sioux last nite. Came out of the gate a bit slow but then really dominated in the 2nd allowing only one shot on net by the Pioneers. Dell was in net and stopped 17 shots but let in a weak one that should never have been scored.Interesting to see who is in net tonite as both goalies have struggled thus far this year. What the most astonishing stat of the nite was the fact the Sioux only had 1 penalty on the nite after incurring 19 out in Maine last weekend. The refs let the boys play and that is the way it should be.Hoping for a sweep tonite and I will be there with beer in hand.

could anyone talk about Dillon Simpson ? scored his 1st goal last night. he was pretty hyped in western canada last year. must be the youngest defensemen in the ncaa this season (93s)
