Hmm.

J. Johnson, 1st in 10, rights to Frolov (Conditional 2nd in 11 if he doesn't resign) for MSL and a 3rd in 2010?

Too little, too much?

LA wants to win right now. Losing Johnson & Frolov would be a major blow to the current team. Lombardi would most likely be offering prospects and picks.

What does Tampa need?

Would have to be one of your top prospects, someone like Hickey or Bernier in a package.

MSL would basically be a 1 year rental for us...

Bernier probably makes the most sense from the Lightning perspective, but Lombardi would never do it.

Williams, Moller, Voynov, 1st

for

MSL, 2nd

Schenn or Bernier would have to be involved.

I guess it really comes down to whether or not MSL wants to stay in Tampa. If he doesn't, your GM (who ever it's going to be), risks losing him for nothing at the end of the season, and may not be able to hold out for a top level prospect.

In other words, if MSL is traded, the Lightning will have to take what they can get. Elite level players never return their true value in a trade. If Kovalchuck can't fetch a top prospect, then I doubt MSL would.

I think it'd be hard to find a package better then what I already stated.

No Bernier, no St. Louis.

If Pitt could afford him I would love him beside Sid. A Kunitz - Crosby - St. Louis line would be pretty good. But unfortunately no way to afford him.

I'd have to think that Yzerman being named GM is going to make it a little more difficult for Marty to walk away.

I wouldn't touch Heatley even if he was made of solid gold.
This guy disappears in every big game. He was basically Casper for the entire playoffs.
