And so it begins.

Sens draw first blood (en garde !)

This is no longer the defending Stanley Cup Champions against the happy-to-be-there but badly overmatched Ottawa Senators.

This is a match up of the two teams that have last won the Eastern Conference Championship.

Not a terribly smooth end but the end result is what matters the most. We stole game #1 and we'll leave Pitts with at least a split. RKN line was tremendous, Fleury was bush-league and Elliott definitely needs some improvement as well. Very happy right now. GO SENS

Clearly no lead will ever be safe this series. We dictated play for much of that game though, which was very encouraging.

They showed it. It looked harmless, but the speculation would be that he tweaked his knee again. He stayed on the bench but didn't take another shift.

Your top D pairing did a nice job against Crosby.

I seem to be a good omen for you guys.

What a ****ing game going into Pittsburgh and taking one in their own barn. Its good to see Kelly, Ruutu, and Neil come up big tonight for their solid effort all year. Not bad for Elliott's playoff debut.

Elliot sucked. Lets be real. He was always DEEP in his net and shots were sailing by him going down too early. But he is the winner.

He needs to be a lot better in game 2 and challenge the shooters.

Whooo!!! I knew we'd win once Regin and Karlsson scored, no stopping the late-model euro imports. Playoff hockey is back!

I hope Michalek is ok.

Not just them the forwards did a good job backchecking to try and keep him contained.

Is it weird that I would put Phillips as our #1 star for that game? No he didnt score but I thought he was an absolute BEAST out there tonight.

We also need a goaltending coach to work on the position of his glove when he gets set. It's a terrible position currently.
his still not a proven goalie in this league but we all hope he will be better

lol at my heart beat in the last 2 minutes...

Happy with the win, we get home ice advantage and put pressure on the Pens. We need to do something against Malkin and Crosby, we can contain them better.

Elliott also needs to be a lot better, he looks like he wants to get hit by the puck, while closing his eyes. Brian, sorry you need to work for the saves, you play against the defending champs.

Anyway, it's great that Elliott, Regin, Karlsson and few others (Z.Smith, Campoli, Carkner...) have their 1st playoff game under their belt.

Go Sens Go!

If Elliott plans on playing this way through the next 3 possible wins sure.... I think he'll settle down next game tho. I'm still sticking with my prediction with us winning in 6.
