You forgot Salvador got caught standing still when Richards was his guy

-Miss net (for the 10th time)...ok we'll live
-Skoula forces a dump in up the boards...atleast the puck is in the neutral zone
-Lapperriere makes a ****ing blind behind the back pass and Salvo stands there...oh jeez
-Richards winds up...Marty is about of foot too far to the side..FML

I can't believe we missed 30 shots yesterday. That better not happen tomorrow.

To blame Marty when a guy or guys aren't in position or can't get somebody regardless of size out of the crease is absolutely silly
Yes, it was a lucky deflection, and yes, Rolston was chillaxin in the crease thinking about the contours of Pronger's back muscles... But why was the puck there for Pronger to get in the first place? Because of a bad rebound. They shot from a terrible angle. It's not like we gave them a great chance and Marty had to scramble to make a save, and the rebound got lucked in... We contained them and didn't give them good opportunities, and they scored on a non-chance because of a bad rebound.

Marty had to scramble because Gagne (I think it was him) was screening Marty when the shot came from the corner and Skoula wasn't exactly helping move Gagne so the puck got through and it took a bounce out off Marty and we all know the rest

A lot of times people like to blame Marty or any goaltender for that matter, but it really comes down to who should have been where and what could have happened had that person done something differently

54 total shots attempted, 16 missed, 14 blocked. Absolutely ridiculous. The blocked shots I can live with, but we should not miss the net with a third of our shots.

The problem is the blocked shots get into your head. So you try to put it where it won't get blocked and then you miss the net.

You've also gotta put into account, the Flyers did a good job keeping our shots to the outside, hence why so many shots were missed

There were a decent ammount of fat rebounds which we didn't crash the net on.....

They still haven't figured out that, since Laperierre and Betts sacrifice the body all the time at the top of the wind up, you just need to fake and spin or keep walking the line to open up a lane.

You spin away from a sliding laperierre and you're going to have a large lane to walk in and fire. These telegraphed shots from the point are WAY too easy for the flyers to block.

A couple of fake shots would help. I thought Martin was going to on the shot that Laperierre eventually blocked.

We've had some bad luck at the Rock during playoff games.......I'm starting to wonder if that place was built on some old burial ground or something.
Whats our record in the playoff's there ????? it's not so great.

it's not the building, it's the team.

other than the Rangers 06 series, their home playoff record since the lockout is...

6-10, **** you can throw the Rangers 06 series and it's still 8-10

It actually is...
I've been saying since game 7 last year that it's the curse of exit 15w. That the devils will fall just short because of it. To break the curse I want to name the Edison place exit off of 21 exit 16w.

But seriously guys, (as of now) every top seeded team lost in game one except for Phoenix. That includes the 1st place Capitals losing to the 8th seeding Montreal (our "most wanted" opponent for round 1). I am not concerned right now. Shoot on net and shoot more during the power play and the Devils will dominate. Even with going 0-5 on the pp and missing 30 shots, last night was a 1 goal game and was just a couple seconds away from being tied at the end there. Gotta win tomorrow and I am confident that we will win tomorrow. This series is far ,far from being over. If we havent won by Monday morning- its over but we will not go 0-3 to the Flyers. We can't do anything besides show up tomorrow, support this team, and be as loud as hell in there- I know I'll be helping out with that part.

After watching a bunch of other games I see something called chemistry. Lemaire's never heard of it.

Here´s my few cents:

It wasn´t a disaster, but more of a mentally stinging loss after a tight playoff match. The Devils had their chances, but Boucher never really got tested. Too many bad angle/missed/shanked/blocked shots plus nobody really shoveling rebounds home. That said, the Flyers didn´t put a test on Marty either.

Had Kovalchuk scored to finish his solo run through everyone, the floodgates would´ve bursted open. A highlight reel -goal to the fullest had it been, but now just a missed shot.

As said, Flyers didn´t get too many chances. They managed to convert a goal (Pronger) out of nothing. In Richards´ goal Salvador was wondering off of his position, but other than that defence was fine, imo. Also White turned it up a bit and was going for big hits all night long. He got Carcillo a couple of times, but also got out of position when he missed his check. Nothing terrible came out of it, though.

Once again sub-par powerplay is (probably) the only thing that needs a major shakeup going into tonight´s game. With a little more sharpness the Devils are bound to get their chances. Sooner or later they are also going to convert their chances into goals.

You missed a boring game. Take away that it was the Flyers and game 1 of the playoffs. If I were a neutral fan I would have switched to another game.
