Theo leaves ice

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=317999

It has been an eventful two days for Washington Capitals goaltender Jose Theodore.

After being named the Caps' starting netminder for the playoffs and having his credentials questioned by former teammate Tomas Plekanec on Tuesday, Theodore left the ice at practice Wednesday after being hit by a shot by Alex Ovechkin.

Ovechkin's shot hit Theodore in the arm, causing the 33-year old keeper to head to the bench for a brief period. He then returned to the ice before heading to the locker room for the remainder of practice. The team has not yet given an update to his status.

The Capitals kick off their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series with the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. It's a game you can catch on TSN and TSNHD starting at 7pm et/4pm pt.

I don't know if this is in favor of the Habs...

It would have been in favor of the Habs, had the puck rebounded and hit Ovechkin in the noggin and concussed him, but Theo, nope not going to help.

I guess Ovechkin agreed with Plekanec.

Not much of a difference between Theo and Varlamov,it's not like if we are talking about Miller or Brodeur

I know that Miller or Brodeur would have caught that Ovechkin shot, not let it bounce on their arm....

I agree. They did the same thing when they claimed that Backstrom was sick. I guess they want to mess up Martin's gameplan

Looks like he'll be fine. Backstrom will likely be back tomorrow, and still looking like Metro is a no-go.

Agree, what a jerk, the Cap should trade him for a bag of used practice pucks (preferably to the Habs of course)

Did the injury occur to Theo's muscle flexing arm? If he can't impress the chicks by showing off his huge muscles, that will definitely hurt his confidence.

Brodeur and Miller would've stayed on the ice after getting hit.

Man the jokes are lame in this thread.

Series hasn't started and already Theodore is getting way too much attention.

He's just going to have to wear bigger diamond earrings.

He'll play tomorrow. Boudreau said he's fine. It just stung him and took him off for precautions.

He better play. He's our best chance at an upset.

Please get better Jose.
