I spent 10 games in the seats this year.

I watched probably 70+ games.

It's tired because it's true.

Cheechoo was so god-awful slow, it's not funny. It was at like McGrattan levels.

I wanted to like Cheechoo, I think he has great character and work ethic. But his execution is piss poor.

No, he probably can't.

I don't have the confidence in Cheechoo to do that.
This a thousand times over. Cheechoo can't participate in rushes and can't help cycle. The 4th line doesn't need to score a whole lot but it does need to keep the puck in the Pens end of the ice. Cheechoo is not going to help them do that.

Alfie and Michalek aren't practicing. I don't think Michalek is going to play tomorrow.

If Michalek can't play then whoever moves up has to play about 14-15 minutes. Cullen and Fisher play about 20 but that includes pk and pp. Foligno will probably be the guy but he'll have to up his game to where it was at its peak. Whoever comes in would probably play no more than 7 minutes of high energy time on the 4th line. I'm not keen on Shannon. He's too easily moved off the puck on the cycle. I'd prefer someone who makes the D pay the price every time they're out there. Either Donovan or Cheechoo could fill that need. Donovan has more speed and Cheechoo can fill more forward holes in case of injury or line management. If it's needed, I'll trust Clouston to make that call.

Me too, we have him signed for the next few years, no point to cause long term damage, especially since speed is his biggest asset.

9mm also plays on the pk.

Cheechoo can't. Shannon can't really. Donovan hasn't this season.

Ummm, no.

You clearly have forgotten how slow Cheechoo really is.

And Cheech doesn't fit into the lineup. He has no offensive game to play in the top 6, and he sucks defensively and lacks the speed to create a forecheck to be in the bottom 6...

You have to love that with two top 6 forwards out we have the ability to debate among three really decent NHL veteran forwards in Shannon, Cheechoo and Donovan as to who will play. That is real depth as I am pretty sure any of the 3 could be the 12th guy Clouston picks and it could change from game to game as well.

That means we had 17 experienced NHL forwards at the end of the season. Plus a couple of more AHLers we would not want to play but probably could.

On defence we have Kuba out and Lee is available with some playoff experience as the 7th guy now.

I really have to hand it to Murray. He gave us a tremendously deep roster. So even with 2 top 6 forwards and a top 4 D-Man out we can keep rolling. Most teams have no where near this kind of depth.

I really hope Michalek can come back in a week or two though. Not good to have so many top players out even if we can slot in replacements for them.

Winchester can. Which makes him a less likely candidate to be moved to the press box.
Cullen can. And of course Ruutu, Kelly, Fisher, Alfie can. Spezza even could I am sure if we needed him to do so. Michalek being gone makes the PK a little less deep and maybe a little less good but it is still a huge strength.

It's a big loss, but not unexpected. A brace can only do so much.

This is where depth comes in, and fortunately....the Sens have some up front.

Nice 16M sitting on the bench with Kuba, Kovalev, Michalek and Cheechoo not playing.

ah well...guess whatever this team does in the playoffs is just bonus. I have a hard time believing they can get anywhere without two top 6 guys with 45 goals or whatever and one top 4 D. It's huge blow because Michalek is replaced by Shannon or Donovan...not even in the same class.

Losing Michalek is a big blow.

We lose speed, we lose PK, we lose a body on the PP. Other players get more fatigued.

Fisher needs to get hot. Starting tomorrow. And continuing for the rest of the year. With both Michalek and Kovalev gone he will be receiving a TONNNN more coverage though, and I cant see that happening.

Prove me wrong. Please.
