Prove me wrong. Please.
I don't think the Pit D was focusing in on MM

Alfie, Fisher, Kelly, Ruutu, Cullen, heck Z Smith got a shortie this year.

Sens don't need Michalek on the PK.

That is pretty effed up, we have 20 million doing nothing for us. Yikes.

Even though I've been pretty critical of Michalek this year I still think this is a big blow, he was one of our few forwards who really had elite level speed. Taking him out of the lineup is a huge blow, I'm not really sure who should draw in now.

**** the playoffs, I'm more concerned about this guy's health in the future. 4 major knee injuries at 25 is terrible.

Disagree. I think this team could still win the Cup. Even as it is now. Kovalev was a wild card. I thought he could do damage but he was as likely to win us a series as lose us one. So losing him just makes us more of a hard team to play against but less explosive. Michalek. Is a good 2nd liner. Not a huge scorer, whoever replaces him will likely score almost as much as he does. He was good defensively and huge and had speed to kill but we have other speedy guys and we have a ton of solid defensive forwards. His loss is not that big that it is in anyway insurmountable. Kuba. Well he can be good and bad. 2nd pairing of Sutton and Karlsson is better than any pairing Kuba has ever been on on the Sens. So Kuba would have been a 3rd pairing guy... he is a lot better than Campoli/Carkener/Lee but we have a great top 4 and 3 decent enough bottom pairing guys. Does not hurt us much.

Michalek is replaced by Foligno. Foligno is replaced on the bottom line by any number of players.

Why we can win:

Our defence is solid.
Our third line is the best in the NHL.
Karlsson is the best defenceman we have had since Chara and far more dynamic offensively.
Regin has emerged as a top 3 or top 6 forward.
Cullen is a great 20 minute a night top 6 forward.
Everyone of the Sens on the team are guys I would want to go to war with as a coach... no floaters, no softies, no me first types. Every guy is a warrior and a winner. Except maybe Lee there is not a guy on the entire roster that is not a big effort guy. I'll even give Winchester, Shannon and Campoli some serious "warrior" in them.
Cullen and Sutton are warrior players. We lose Kovalev... no Heatley or Priessing or Emery. We simply have a TEAM. A tough team.. full of leaders and bleeders. This is a playoff team with all the parts needed to go really deep even after 3 major injuries.

Of course we really, really need to not have anymore series long term injuries to maintain our chances at the Cup.

Big loss, but not Catastrophic loss.

Foligno moved up to the Fisher-Cullen line and looked pretty good.

Foligno-Fisher-Cullen is not much worse than Michalek-Fisher-Cullen

and on our 4th line, for the role it plays, Donovan-Winchester-Smith is pretty good, especially if Smith and Winnie play like they did last game, and Donovan plays like he did in '08.

Why does CC have such a hard on for Shannon?? Is it because they are both midgets?

.. Winny cycles to Smith, Smith to Shannon, Shannon is pushed off the puck by a slight draft in the igloo, odd man rush the other way.

I somewhat agree, it was apparent yesterday that MM9 was not at full strength and was obviously struggling, so a healthy Foligno is better than him. But that 4th line was really good yesterday and if Shannon get to play, they will become useless. Donovan needs to play so they can keep the cycle game going.

This. It's easy to forget when you're cheering for a team, but this guy's knees will be severely screwed up later in life. Let's hope they don't take anything away from his bright future in the NHL.

Hell no! Donovan was the obvious choice, unless Clouston is putting Shannon on Fisher's line. That would work as Cullen is a better fit on LW anyways, but no way do you put that line out against Crosby or Malkin, they will eat Shannon alive.

1st choice would have been Cheechoo on the 2nd.
2nd - Chum (on the 4th), Foligno on the 2nd.
3rd - Shannon (on the 4th), Foligno on the 2nd.
