The worst thing about this **** is how we have defend useless guys, and **** if we didn't care about them we would not post about the sharks nor would we support the team, man it feels like the hockey world just squashed us one step futher down the steps
you're right of course... but that's also why we "embrace the fail."
He's always been my favorite Shark, but if he doesn't step it up immediately, I'll drive him to the airport. That's probably the worst part of all this, what is his problem?
Dude... this isn't even the first or second time he has basically ruined a playoff series himself. I can't believe you've stuck with him that long. Remember the Detroit series? That was world class failure
I'm going through the first page of post game comments and I don't think I need to read the rest. I just want to say THANK GOD South Park's 200th episode was one of the best episodes the series has already done because that show took some of the stain away from watching the Sharks game. If you haven't seen South Park's 200th episode yet and you're a fan of the series since season 1, watch it. You definitely won't regret it.
As for the sharks, I really only have one thing to say: Here we go again.
Ok, I have one more thing to say. The Top Line Sucks ass. At least they did tonight. Talk about a team moving in slow motion. How many times did Thornton and Marleau turn over the puck or have it trickle off of thier stick. I think it maybe happened for half the turnovers the Sharks had and all the freaking time in terms of the trickling.
Ok, I have one more thing to say, and I promise this will be it for this post.
People might say it's only one game and get 'em the next time. Well, to that I answer with the point of that's a terrible excuse. The Sharks are here to supposedly right the wrongs of past deeds and this was really a must win game. Watching the Sharks reminded me so much of watching them against the Ducks last year. How is this team ever going to prove to the rest of the NHL that they belong. Right now, they are a laughing stock and they better come out in the next game and absolutely destroy the Avs. If they don't win like 5-0, than I have a sneaking feeling this series will be over. The Playoffs are all about momentum (I think I even made a mention that the Flyers were carrying a ton of momentum going into the game tonight and it showed) and right now, San Jose has none. They better come out, and win by at least 5 goals. If not, chalk this up to another ****ed up year.
Credit to Heatley who played a solid game. He was in front of the net, made some nice passes, and consistently got open. Unfortunately, his linemates did not play their roles very well. Heatley depends on Marleau and Thornton for certain things, as he very well should be able to, and when they don't bring it his game suffers.
Split the trio. Having the three superstars on the one line isn't working. They apparently cannot figure out their individual roles...
Tmac is the problem. The Sharks backed off all night. That's the coaching scheme. Forecheck with one guy, and don't have the dmen involved in the offense. That's all on the coach. The players do what they're told, and I don't like what he's telling them to do.
And Marleau Sucked big Donkey Doo. He's been MIA for months now. Either he's hurt again or he's just mailing it in. Either way he better show up or good riddance.
Just got back from the game. Last minute was so UGH. The whole game was pretty meh. McLellan needed to play the 3rd and 4th line more. 10 minutes of ice for Couture? I know he's a rookie and all but he's more effective than 20 minutes of Patty right now. He looked surprised that there was a game tonight. Only Sharks I liked tonight was Clowe, Nabby, Vlasic, Couture, Nichol, Maholtra, Mitchell and Demers and McGinn if only because they weren't on the ice enough to even make any mistakes. Everyone else stunk. Thornton had a few moments where it looked like he was finally going to take over the game but Heatley and Marleau just were not in sync. This game was frustrating because the Sharks could have won it by playing mostly uninspired hockey. But they lost.
I'm hoping to see Ortmeyer back in the lineup for game 2 and Huskins scratched. I liked the 7 d idea at first but they need to roll 4 lines. Nichol-Ortmeyer-McGinn is a more than decent 4th line.
Hope is fading and fast. Game 2 decides this series IMO. Sharks lose and it's over. Sharks win and it's a best of 5 that the Sharks can take over with the play we know they are capable of.
I'm so disappointed and irked tonight. I'm not going to flame the team but I will say that the Sharks better have not been playing there best game tonight because if it was, then it's all over.
