Thats brutal. I like Campbell alot, but come on, the King will rule that space in NY for at least another half decade this guy has gotta be trolling for NYR fans to click on his article. I WISH the draft went like that up until #10.

TRX, BPA, no doubt, but no goalies

Yeah, that's pretty laughable. We just drafted a goalie (Stajcer), traded for two goalies (Johnson, Auld), and signed one (or two?) guys out of college. So now we're going to spend the 10th pick on a goalie? Riiight.

Clearly... we must just really like goalies! Look at all of them that we acquire!

But, as said, it would be nice if the top 9 did go down that way.

We'd have our choice of Johansen, Niederreiter, Connolly, or Tarasenko.

Not too shabby.

Oh boy, the debates will rage for years if both Nino and Johansen are both there and we take Johansen

Not for those of us on the Johansen bandwagon.

Oh no doubt

This is the thing, there are a few really good players in the top ten, I'm wondering if certain teams will take certain players based on how close they are to being a Pro. Example - the Isles pick at #5. Would they go for Gormley over Forbort if they rate them both equally but Gormley is closer to the pro game? GM's are pressured to win now

Well since my thread got locked i'll post here. What round in the draft do you think this guy is gonna go with all the negatives surrounding him. Do you think we should take a chance with him and if so when? As I see it he has a lot more up side potential then down and can become a legitimate force in the NHL. Is he another Zherdev 2.0 or what? What do you guys think?

sounds like a lot of the chatter right before Montoya was drafted.

If Campbell is the best player at 10, take him. However, the title of the article is "Top 10 mock draft based on team needs" so yeah, swing and a miss.

No one's going to touch him in the top 3 rounds.

The kid's a prima donna head case who has no concept of work ethic and a meddling father who thinks his son ***** gold. When he doesn't get his way, he'll run back to Russia. And when he doesn't get his way there, he'll come running back. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Not worth the headaches unless it's low round pick.

Kinda how I feel. Bad attitudes kill any other traits a prospect brings to the table.

Where does Pulkinnen rank? 2nd in scoring so far with 10 points in 3 games.

Id like to reacquire our 3rd.

How about this:

Rangers get: 2nd overall, Ryder (salary dump for Boston)

Bruins get: Kaberle, 10th overall

Leafs get: Rangers 2nd rounder ('10), Callahan, Bruins 2nd rounder ('10)

Maybe Leafs/Bruins get another prospect from the Rangers.

What do you think?

Lets get a good one from this draft and keep Cally. That's my favorite scenario.

That hockey news article was kinda doofy in all honesty. There is zero chance Campbell comes to the Rangers and not having Nino/Johansen/Burmistrov/Connolly in the top 10.

You can all call me nuts but I'd be willing to take back Huet's salary for two years if Chicago gives the Rangers their first round pick as a "favor" for helping them out with the cap, kinda like when the Devils traded Malakov to the Sharks in 05-06.

Something like Rozi/Sauer/next year's 2nd or 3rd for either Sharp/Byuf/Versteeg and Huet and this year's first.

That THN article sounds a bit like they just surfed onto HF, looked up the organizational rankings and thought: "Oh they say the Rangers lack goaltending prospects, so we're gonna predict them draft one" without thinking for a second why we have no highly-rated goaltending prospects

The only chance you guys have at netting the 2nd overall is either:

1. lump all of your prospects and 24-year-old or less players into a deal to Boston.

or

2. include Lunqvist

Either way, ain't happenin'. Boston won't be dealing the pick.

Anyway, you are overvaluing that pick.

I'd probably disagree with that. Sure, if he is rated the BPA at that spot by a wide margin then perhaps...but considering we likely won't have a need for a starting goalie for the next 5-10 years, and considering that we've already seen there is little value in trading goalies, I'd really just rather have the next BPA as opposed to a guy who might (at best) be a great backup goalie for us in a few years.

You really don't think the Bruins deal the #2 overall for our #10, #40, Staal and Callahan? That's a pretty strong offer for a guy who is not projected to be the next Crosby.

I really think any talk regarding Boston's pick should be banned from this thread

When was the last time a team traded a pick that high?

If the Rangers really did sign this Mats Zuccarello-Arsen dude then Granlund is officially eliminated as a draft pick...and that's fine by me.
