1080P Console Games?

I was wondering if they're are any PS3 or Xbox 360 Games that Output in 1080P?

Most of the games that I've seen seem to only be in 720P.

I'm not sure but that's exactly why I bought a 720p TV instead of a 1080p.

Only 2 I know of are MGS4 and GT5 Prologue which means GT5 will be as well.

i thought even the ones that are advertised at 1080p aren't really true 1080p.

i believe they're rendered at a slightly lower resolution and then upscaled.

If you're talking about games made specifically for 1080p, not many. Most games out there upscale from 720p for 1080p from what I recall

Most of the 1080p console games seem to be PSN games, though a few notable sports games are also on the list (the show).

That game is fun; the only racer I have ever really liked; probably because there is a lot of shooting involved as well.

I don't know what you saw, but I thought it was one of the most visually pleasing games of this gen. Zone mode and Detonator (for the Fury add-on) just look fantastic.

edit: I heard it's $10 now on PSN for a short while. Helluva deal, IMO.

I'm pretty sure that the fighting game "BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger" is in 1080p, at least on PS3.

But for me... no games are because I'm still playing on a crappy regular standard TV.

Being able to output in 1080p is not the same as officially supporting 1080p

Most games (in north america) are designed to run on 720p, since that's what a majority of the market has. However, running those titles in 1080p is simply stretching that 720p resolution into 1080p

There's about three games that internally render at 1080p. Virtually every other game renders at 720p or less.

There are others, but I don't remember all of them. PS3 games will only advertise 1080p if they render at 1080p. If they say "...upto 1080p" it means it's not truly running at 1080p.

All Xbox360 games say 1080p on them now that the console supports 1080p.

I think the only ones that do 1080p on the Xbox360 are VirtuaTennis 3 and NBA Street Homecourt.

Some of the less graphically intense games (Xbox Live Arcade, and the PS3 equivalent I guess) use 1080p. Otherwise, it's typically older games that supported 1080p. The Xbox360 has so few games that support 1080p because for a long time the console didn't support 1080p output (it was added in an update).
