Minnesota signs Jarod Palmer

I believe he was Redline's top college free agent this year:

Love the continuation of dipping into the free agent pool, it can't hurt.

I watched almost all of Palmer's career at Miami and I can tell you that he won't set the world on fire but can contribute in every zone and doesn't give up on plays. He has the size and speed to play in the bottom-six for an NHL team but I don't think his hands are good enough to be an impact scorer. Hope he does well in Wild laundry!

I'll take this over Ryan Jones any day of the week.

OK, I suppose, but there's only so many rosters spots to hand out. He's also 24, so what he's got is what's he's got. Expect him in Houston.

I think he's got a legit shot at the 4th line next year. I don't expect Earl, Kalus, or Boogaard to be here this fall.

Which is where he needs to be. Houston needs help.

I'd rather see Houston's roster filled with these kind of guys rather than the usual ringers and career AHLers. Young and hungry. It's also good the see another shooter in the system. Nice call Deuce.

Here's why he'll be in the NHL this fall:
