I am not shock at all......................If the team plays D and shuts down Ovy that team will more then likely win that game.

Caps, Pens, Devils...the three suppossed favorites of the East drop their first games at home.

The East really is full of parity this year

Not only was it a penalty, I would have awarded a penalty shot. Looked like Gio was in the clear unabated to the net when he was dragged down.

How funny would it be to see two Canadian teams knock out the Pens and Caps? NBC would tear up their contract and ESPN would go back to never talking about hockey.

I thought it looked like a PS but it being the POs I thought he would at least get the tripping call.

I don't think he was clear but it should have been a penalty.

Oh well Montreal won anyways.

Habs win the first OT game of the playoff season.

Caps bandwagoners are stunned to learn they don't get a charity point.

Gio had a step, but I don't think he had a clear break. I would have given a penalty, but not a penalty shot. I guess the refs put the whistles away though.

Nice.

Watching the Van-LA game. The ****ing "Lou" chants and for that matter the "Bou" chants are so annoying. Everytime they touch the puck? Come on. Just for that the the 'nucks and the Phlyers need to go.

These 2 days have shown(if only a little) that the top teams in the East arent much better than those on the bottom

They are better teams. It's only the first game. We'll see after 7.

I have the Sens dismissing the Pens in 5. Pens are not playing very good hockey at all.

but I do have the Caps in 6.

Jim Hughson is a good announcer, but he really is a Canucks homer.

Well I never said they werent better.

I'm just saying people seemed to write off Montreal in 4 or 5 games. The fact that they were able to take the first game on the road, is something many people probably never predicted.

My main point is these series will be closer than some people will think, since the top teams although better than the bottom seeds, arent that much better than them.

Overall, I may sound like im disagreeing with you, but i think we are in agreement.

My third favorite announcer behind Doc and Thorne.

Hughson rules. "He scooor----urrrs."

It's a damn shame he calls games for a team I despise.

He is really great. I don't really see how he is homerish. He is no more than any other announcer.

And I hate the canucks.
