I had no idea Doc was 63! He seems so much younger!

Also I have a trivia question that I don't know the answer to: how did Doc get the nickname Doc?

He has a Ph.D. in Communications so people call him Doc.

That was awesome and cool to get some inside info on what he does during game days.

Cool stuff. I thought "beloved wife of 32 years" meant she was 32 years old at first glance... I lul'd at myself.

I see Doc at most games in the Fire lounge, and he looks freaking terrible... He is frail and emaciated, frankly old for 63. My dad is five years older than Doc and looks ten years younger, and he is in no great shape. I fear Doc is seriously ill, actually.

I don't think he's ill, just exhausted from overworking.

You try waking up at 4am every morning and staying up until at least 11:00.

Nice write-up. I was already knowledgable of Doc's routine gameday schedule, but I had no idea that he woke up THAT early for the airport!

I take infinite pride in the fact that Gary Thorne and Doc Emrick (two of the greatest in terms of national Stanley Cup Playoff commentators) were/are with the Devils.
