Good!! Now there's no chance of Sather bringing back Petr the Great.

Slats makes the ridiculous even more ridiculous. I'd just as soon get Nedved off the table than risk the chance of Sather thinking Nedved might be a better fit this time around

I liked Petr. I hope, if he does in fact stay in Edmonton, he does well for them.

Ditto.

He's a better fit there.

He definately is. He said during the stretch drive it feels like he's playing hockey again. Also, at the annual Oilers' breakfast he said he had a gut feeling Neddy wanted to stay. I hope he's right. Then again, it may come down to what his supermodel fiance wants. She could get used to the beaches of Edmonton

I don't know, I hope his superstar fiancee understands that playing for Edmonton is the best thing to happen for his career in a long time. The fans treat him like royalty and he has a chance to turn his legacy back to respectability and be our go-to-guy! That said, thanks to the Rangers for helping us out. I know our payrolls are at opposite ends of the spectrum but I've always felt connected with the Rangers somehow. Of course Ranger fans could feel the complete opposite.

It's a good thing for him to play in Edmonton. And it can be good for Edmonton, too.

Edmonton wants him, he needs to assess what he wants!
I think he'd rather take a pay cut than being out of play offs again. With the Oilers
there is no automatic playoff qualification guarantee.

I hope Nedved stays in Edmonton and has some success there. I liked him here but he just didn't seem consistent enough. He redeemed himself here after an awful 01-02 season and won the fans back. Good luck to Petr wherever he winds up.

As for the Rangers helping out Edmonton, I'm hoping they send Yorkie back in return for the "Nedved favor." Ain't gonna happen, I know.

Sure, if Petr and Radek agree to pay his salary.

Personally I feel we owe you. I think we should return the favour somehow but I don't know if the Oilers have any players we can afford to part with that would interest New York though.

Hlavac signed a one year deal with the Rangers last summer. I can't see him being back with the Rangers.

I would do that.

It isn't that Oilers fans are not high on him anymore, its that MacTavish has made it way too blatantly obvious he won't give Rita a chance. He is very talented and I think he would love New York.

Say, a question. Is MSG on Manhattan Island?
