I like the moves but I'd be happier with Richardson on the top line. I think he has earned it.

Oh and...

Props to Murray on the changes. I thought the only change he'd make was Ivanans out but he made the right call on all three.

- Ivanans. While he was actually decent, I don't get the "he's physical" argument because he's not. He can't skate thus he can't hit anyone. Clune in his spot is a benefit. While I'm not as high on Clune as most (based on his play so far) he's at least game to try to hit and agititate and hopefully help neutralize or duplicate the Burrows/Raymond ***** fest.

- Jones. Nothing to be said but THANK YOU. I just pray Harrold doesn't make a glaring mistake not because it would cost us per se, but it would give Murray an excuse to throw Jones right back in Game 3, which would guarantee him costing us again. Make the smart, simple plays Harrold and you'll be fine!

- Williams. He's rarely been a competent hockey player since December. One good period against the Ducks recently doesn't give you a free pass to **** up consistently, turning the puck over, and bringing down the entire first line with you. I'm sure this is just a one game thing but hopefully it lights a fire under his ass going forward. We need him to be more of himself and less Kyle Calder. Promoting Simmer is a bit of a head scratcher since he's been bad himself for a while now too but he's always looked good on the first line so I'm ok with giving it a look. If he struggles though in the game, I hope we see Richardson move up to take his spot (depending on how the 3rd line is doing though, obviously). I'm just glad Murray didn't automatically throw Brown on the First line. Frolov - Stoll - Brown = good. Brown + Kopitar = bad.

Good moves by TM. Parse was built for this. I see a goal coming from his line.

I'm a bit concerned with Clune. I just hope he doesn't get out of control or take unnecessary penalties.

Indeed.

However, I like the changes. Wakes the team up and everyone nuts up for game 2. I think we will take game 2 here. Based on the fact the Canucks did quite well in game 1 and played their game, and we didn't. Yet the game goes into OT.

One change too many if you ask me. TM should have stopped with Raitis and Jones.

Disagree. Williams has been horrible since his return. Not only did he turn the puck over at the blue line, but then proceded to let Sedin skate right by him for the breakaway goal. You can't let that lazy play stand.

Simmonds may not be scoring right now, but he is not hurting the team with lazy turnovers and weak back checks.

Kopitar wasn't very good on offense in game one, but he worked his ass off defensively. Same with Smyth. Williams, not so much.

I was worried about tonight's game, but now I'm pumped! I sure hope the Kings are too.

Now they know if takes 100% effort or you will be in the press box. I expect a huge opening period by the Kings.

Dude, seriously? That was just a great play from Sedin. You don't think Williams tried his best to get back?

I don't really like Williams being scratched. The Kings had trouble generating offense and speed. Taking Williams out does not help. I'd be okay with him being moved down a line or two, even three but taking him out of the lineup completely is the wrong move in my opinion.

Clune's gonna kill somebody. Hopefully Willy gets the message and tears it up in Game 3.

That would have been my approach as well. But the Kings have proven they can win consistently without him, which is the one reason I don't mind it as much.

Eh, Williams head isn't quite in the right spot when he is making plays.

The backhand pass the Sedin picked off at the blue line was a bad move by Williams. The right play was to cycle it back down low.

On the backcheck, Williams clearly doesn't have his full speed back in his legs, but what bothered me was that he tried stick checking D. Sedin the whole way back, even though Sedin didn't have the puck at that time. What Williams should have done was put his head down and race Sedin back and worry about a stick check when the pass came over. Every time he reached out with his stick, he lost a half a step on Sedin. Had he purely tried to skate with Sedin, he probably would have been close enough for a reaching stick check to mean something once D. Sedin got the pass from Henrik.

Aside from that play, Williams turned the puck over far too often. Every single one of his smart little plays was followed by a stupid turnover.

That said, I am on the fence about benching Williams. I like the message it sends, but I also would have prefer he simply get demoted to the 4th line. I am not so sure benching Williams, even with his poor recent play, gives us the best chance to win, considering who comes in for him.

To be honest, Simmonds is the one I am most worried about this series. Boy needs to step it up BIG TIME.

Dude, seriously, watch the replay. Williams turns if over and doesn't check Sedin into the boards, just lets him skate by (does his own little spin around as well). Then trys a weak stick check when Sedin skates in front of Quick. This is the e'ffing playoffs, check someone!

http://kings.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp...AN381&fr=false

If Williams checks him into the boards, it is a basic 2-on-2 rush.
