Why should Germany cut 4 forwards and 4 defensemen, that doesn't make any sense.
Roster size is 23 players, plus two who can be switched after the preliminary round.
It will be 12 forwards, 8 defensemen and 3 goalies, like always. Seeing how there are currently 15 forwards, 11 defensemen and 3 goalies on the roster, you can be pretty sure that Krupp won't cut 8 players.
Is Mueller expected to sign with an NHL team shortly after the tournament is over?
I would expect so. I hope that the Leafs sign him, he would be a great addition to our bottom 6 or the Marlies top 6 forwards. He is a Brian Burke type of player and I'm assuming he knows Holzer, so it wouldn't surprise me if they come together. It would be the best time as they are both German and since the Marlies and Leafs are both in Toronto, they could stay together. I would actually be surprised if he didn't sign with the Leafs, honestly.
I'm still pretty certain that Müller can't sign a deal with an NHL-team, as there is no transfer-agreement and Müller is under contract next season. He would need to be released by his team (won't happen) or buy himself out of the deal (unlikely).

Everything that I am hearing about him says that he will most likely be in NA next season. I have a feeling he will come over with Holzer and play on the Marlies/Leafs next season. Regardless of whether or not he has a contract I think the Leafs will have him buy himself out and then include a bonus on his contract that is equal to or greater than what he pays. I am fairly certain he will be here (NA) next season.
Krupp cut Yannic Seidenberg and Chris Schmidt.
At first I thought Krupp finally noticed that Schmidt does not belong on the team, but just like Bakos it was due to health issues that he was cut. Some sort of virus infection.
Our D may now lack some experience, but I still like it better without Schmidt and Bakos than with those guys.
I think he improved a lot this season and played very consistent espcially when you consider his age.
Although I should add one thing to my previous post. I have no idea if either Dietrich or Krueger could or should be ranked ahead of Holzer, since I haven't seen them play for a long time.
I'm a big fan of Holzer's game and really hope he does well. I mean right now he is no Seidenberg and certainly no Ehrhoff but he made the Olympic roster with all our best D available (except Sasha Goc of course) and he didn't disappoint in his role then. Now I hope he will handle his role on this team, which will likely be a bit bigger, just as well.

You're making some mighty big asumptions.
Now, I want Muller to come to the Leafs too. I think he'll be a bigger impact player than the Norwegian Hobbit. However, I don't think he'll come to NA this year, but next year.
Justin Krueger looks good out there. Heavy hit on Brooks Laich who gave it back to him seconds later, but Krueger was able to play the puck inspite of it.

I liked Krueger's game a lot in the first. Also I was quite impressed with Braun at times. His game is still inconsistent but I think he moves his big body quite well, and is starting to use his strength too.
He may not be ready yet, but he has potential.
Anywhere to watch online? That's not a good start.
try zattoo.com and watch Sport1. But I think you need a german proxy.
3:1 for Canada at the beginning of the 3rd. Germany with good pressure in the last minutes of the 2nd but they just can't score. Barta and Dietrich stand out for Germany and Canadas best are Perry and Eberle imo.

Thanks, I really appreciate the updates. I can't even find an online scoreboard, although it looks like the IIHF website will post one after the game. Especially glad to hear Eberle's playing well. I assume Mason is in net for Canada? Any idea who's wearing letters?

yea Mason in goal. Stamkos just scored the 4:1. live score here:
Thank you! If you feel like it, we would really appreciate any of your thoughts on Eberle over on the Oilers board after the game. We don't have much else to talk about these days.
