I'm sort of undecided on being given the cold shoulder by CBC so we ended up on TSN. CBC is not as high on OV as TSN (call them the Crosby Broadcasting Corporation) so if we were on CBC I'd expect less focus on Washington than TSN is giving. I'll give TSN credit for focusing equally on Crosby and not treating it like he's the be-all, end-all of hockey (though CBC might be catering to its Canadian audience and the fact Canadian sponsors/advertisers are much more invested in Sid). If we were playing Boston, no contest though. Like in 2002, 2004, 2008 and 2009 we'd be ignored more than we should be on a program called Hockey Night in Canada (peppered with 3 dyed-in-the-wool Bruin fans and MacLean going along with whatever his bud Cherry likes makes it 4).
Either way, the Habs will have to earn the respect and attention because going in, TSN was acting like Washington was a Canadian or Original 6 franchise and the country should be hearing the hype on them. If it were Leafs-Caps, they'd be all over the "underdog" story and Burke, Wilson's comments, etc. Anyway, here's to the Habs making them all sit up and take some notice! Unlike the Leafies, we actually need to do something good to get any credit and attention from the "national" (aka Southern Ontario) media.
