...and now it's a series.

The Good -

- Getting up early
- The hitting and intensity were good. Not game 1 good, but good.

The Bad -

- Turnovers
- Blowing their first game when leading going into the third period.
- If someone finds Tim Connolly, tell him the series has started.

The UGLY -

- Vanek's injury took not only their best player out of the game but took the life out of the team for stretches.
- Ennis. Rookie mistake leads to the game-changing goal.
- Win a puck battle late?

Bad:

-Vanek's injury. Keep your fingers crossed that its not bad but the highlight made it look like he'll be out awhile.
-Giveaways. The Sabres were credited with 26 giveaways as a team today. 26!!
-Not holding the offensive zone. In the dieing minutes, you can't continually have 1 and done situations if you expect to tie it up.
-Connolly. I don't care if he's a little injured still. Play better.

I really thought Miller was too aggressive and it cost him on the rebounds. Boston capitalized more than Buffalo did.

Good:

-Losing a game after leading after 2. Better it happen now, then when its a game 7.
-Knowing that even if we play like complete ****, we can still win.

bad:
-miller on the 4v2. not his fault to be in that spot, but if he stays back in the net, he might have made the save.

ugly:
-hope vaneks not out long.
-Chara's balance.

those goals were'nt miller's fault, it was a breakdown of the sabres defense and timely placed shots by the bruins.

Connolly has been **** since coming back. This is what happens when he gets hurt. Hurts him mentally.

Lydman coughing up the puck on the empty net pretty much summed up the game. The sabres just did not compete for pucks.

Grier was in FULL-OUT glide mode.... I cringed when Sekera touched the puck and he didn't even have a god-awful game... and Miller looked a bit off. Somewhat too aggressive.

roy and connolly were terrible...
ennis doesnt belong in the playoffs...
Ruff's decisions in the final 3 minutes were garbage...
sekera should see some pine...
pominville pulled his usual do one good thing while sucking all night...
torres was invisible, he should know the system by now...
mair, useless...
Pom, Con, Roy = probably half of the teams turnovers...
Goose was completely ineffective in any role...

Sekera's poise with the puck in the defensive zone when under pressure is starting to remind me of An_y elm_re

Yes to all except Ennis, who was our most dangerous forward besides Vanek in game one.

Why is it so unreasonable and unrealistic to ask/expect someone to step up when we lose our key offensive cog? Are we that devoid of any true leadership up front?

Has Torres done anything beneficial since his arrival, by the way?

Ugly: Steve Montador has been our overall best defenseman in the first 2 games. I said it.

We looked good in the first, I missed the second, and we looked terrible in the third. They were all over us. We're not going to win this series if we keep playing like that. I guess we'll have to see what they're made of.

I really hope Vanek's not out. He was just coming on, and we really need him in the playoffs.

Actually it'd be better if we never lost those games. And knowing we can still win, when we play like complete ****? You know we lost right? There's nothing good to take out of the effort this team gave for majority of this game. If they continue to play like that, they'll be golfing alot sooner than they want to.

No one thought going in we were going to sweep. No one thought going in we wouldn't be able to win one on the road.

Good:
-- Very good start

Bad:
-- Blowing a fairly strong 2 goal lead.
-- Responding very poorly to the loss of Vanek.
-- The powerplay is a disaster so far.
-- Miller was not sharp. He made several poor decisions and had rebound issues.
-- Turnovers, breakdowns, boneheads, etc. 2nd period blues again, only the storm cloud didn't pass.
-- Poms goal was a beauty... but every thing else was terrible.

Ugly:
-- Losing the team's hottest player and currently best skater. Was it not Boychuk who felt a player should be suspended for shoulder checking? He seems to have switched his philosophical outlook.
-- Completely deflating loss for us fans. Wow. I almost never feel this way but it definitely ruined my day.

Can someone help me find the Paul Gaustad who was captain material at the beginning of the year? He seems to have gone missing.

Ruff in the presser on Vanek:

-LBI on the Boychuk two-hander play
-Does not know if he will miss time
-Expects him to make the trip to Boston
