Okay, great win, I was screaming when Anze buried the goal in OT. But this team still has some issues. The Canucks still dominated us 5 on 5. Granted, we did apply noticeably more pressure, but we weren't getting many good chances and the Canucks were doing a much better job of getting pucks on net. Quick was getting worked a lot harder than Luongo for most of the game. We must do better in the defensive zone. Take away the slot, get takeaways, step up the forecheck. Relying on our goalie to bail out the defense won't win us games. And on the other side, we definitely need to do a better job of controlling the puck at even strength. It seems like we're on our heels so much of the time, it's no wonder we can't generate scoring chances.

Also, I ****ing love Richard Clune, he was so effective in the limited ice time he had.

And, of course, Drew Doughty is the ****ing man.

More importantly, congrats to Quick for getting that Monkey off his back. Couldn't come at a better time.

1993 was the last time the Kings had a quarterfinal that started on the road that the Kings split before heading home. Every time since the Kings started off 0-2.

1993 wasn't too bad of a playoff run.

Quick Way to step up after the 2nd goal. Shutting the door after the 1st period.

Kopitar Big goal and assist tonight.

Doughty Hockey God!

Terry Murray Benches Williams and Jones and then challenges Simmonds by putting him on the first line. Then he has a moment of clarity and takes Stoll off of the point on the PP and the Kings score twice on the PP!!

Staples Center better be rockin' Monday.

Ridiculous. Canucks got away with a lot more than L.A. did tonight.

Case in point, the holding call on Halpern and the puck over the glass call on Stoll, while Alberts could have been called for a couple more penalties.

How can they blame the refs? There were weak calls against both teams. Vancouver needs to worry about their PK and stop worrying about the calls.

Stoll got a delay of game that was deflected by Sedin. Smyth got a weak interference call on a dive by Vancouver. And Halpern was given a marginal holding call.

I thought in 1993, the Kings lost both games in Calgary and then won 4 straight with Robb Stauber in net.
