It's not that they don't want it. There's probably a lot of info that wont be and can't be posted in public that would explain why they can't make a go of it this season. And what fans? most of the people who would attend the games aren't even there right now because they would be on vacation at the ski resort at the time.

I've heard multiple times that they missed a payment to the league, whether that is true or not I don't know.

I think the idea just sounds stupid. Yes, lets play at a ski resort where it's made up of primarily vacationing people. Not sure how many people you would really get. This would never happen outside of an A league....there are reasons obviously for that. Not sure how long this team would expect to live for. How can any team in any league survive with just 400 seats?!

Pretty much the exact reason why the ECHL failed in Atlantic City. An ECHL hockey team isn't going to lure people away from the casinos nor will an A level hockey team lure fans from the ski lodges.

Anyone interested in investing in the league, now is your time.

Yes, this is the official cover logo for the "Inside the Glass" newsletter.

Wonder if the league is hurting for money if they have to put this on the front page of the website when most leagues will just suggest contacting their sales department for investment information?

So let me get this straight....

For $5000 any average joe can name the FHL Trophy whatever the heck they want? Enticing....

$1000 for a magazine with a blurry picture that doesn't even look like glass. $33 an issue? Man, there better be some good deals on merchandise or something. thats EXPENSIVE for a magazine. Especially one on A Hockey.

Let's all pool some money together and name it the Amalgamated National Alliance League Cup (A.N.A.L.).

Just another development that says, "Yes, take Class-A hockey seriously!"

Two teams have now suspended operations this summer without playing a game. Unreal.

Bloomington of the CHL with that ridiculous setup should take note and fold now too.

I thought the problem with the Nationals was the lack of sponsorship? Who were they going to be sharing an arena with? A junior team?

Also, interesting how in the teams tab Green Mountain is gone, but the "Frenzy" and Nationals still exist, however in the select a site tab....you can still select Green Mountain's site.

And then there were seven...

Shall we take bets on how many finish the season? Let's hope this doesn't turn into an AAHL redux...

The Gale Centre(where the Nats WOULD have played)is home to 2 junior teams: the Niagara Falls Canucks(a Junior B team that plays in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League)and the Chippawa RiverHawks(a Junior C team).

Thank you for the clarification, I should have tried to do some research, a quick google search for me and a Wikipedia search and I couldn't find info on the arena. I knew they had 2 teams in the area established at the junior ranks but did not know they played at the Gale Center. I knew for some reason or another the Nationals were having trouble finding a dress room oon game nights, that should have been a tip that something was up.

Forgive me for editing your post, that was a first time mistake

I feel bad, just for the clarificatioon for anybody who didn't see the post(I don't know how to fix my own error) ckg927 pointed out that the Nationals would have shared the Gale Center with 2 junior teams.

Alexandre Lacombe talks about his time playing with the 1000 Islands Privateers after being signed by the Fayetteville FireAntz of the SPHL (2010-11 season).

Since we are all wondering who is the next team to fall, I think I will place my money on the Akwesasne Warriors.

Reasons being: Warriors website has not been updated since April 2011, team is not actively selling season tickets, star player Pierre Dagenais has signed with Sherbrooke of the LNAH (Quebec pro league), no mention of tryouts or free agent camps for them, and they are one of the only teams not to have signed ANYBODY in the off-season

I can't take credit for this though as some of these points were pointed out on another forum.

That would be reasonable given that information. Danville is my in season fold prediction.

Just got my Aviators gameworn. Decent looking jersey with a nice amount of wear. Definitely happy with it for a $100 purchase.

Nice. I wonder how long they will be around if the Rangers/Isles stick an AHL team at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Danbury and Brooklyn are the class of the league from what I understand in terms of financial backing. I would love to see Danbury in the ECHL, they would be a nice addition. However this would require a new arena.

Not a problem.

And in all seriousness, even IF the Nats did manage to find the home dates they probably wouldn't have lasted the season. I really don't think they'd be able to overcome the 1-2-3 punch(IceDogs(OHL), Canucks and RiverHawks).

I had heard that there was a concern for sponsorship and being able to spread it around. This is a totally different reason for why they folded. I'm not shocked either that they folded. This league is starting to worry me, I thought they did a decent job last season and earned a little credibility.

It was both. Not area so limited sponsorships on top of limited ice time.

Re the first part: That's presuming one of those teams don't land in the arena first. (The Isles are more likely to call it home, especially if the referendum to approve of building a new arena for the Isles gets voted down. Why? Two reasons: 1. Under the terms of the agreement with the Rangers, the Islanders can move to ANYWHERE on Long Island. And Brooklyn is still on Long Island. 2. MSG is getting some major renovations done to it.) And now, back to our normally scheduled thread...

This isn't really off the topic though, as Brooklyn is a team in the league and it could impact the FHL Franchises future. I think it would be hard to compete with an NHL or AHL team.

Though, Mikhail Prokorhov will own the Barclays Center, correct? I'm not sure he would want another team in his arena, however he would likely recieve a nice chunk from Charles Wang(or whoever owns the team then)

I thought Brooklyn was it's own Boro, i didn't know it was part of LI. thats what i get for being from Upstate.
