The BIGGEST game of the year. People need to step up. I'm looking at the coyotes forwards, we have several people who are not contributing right now. I'm hoping for Doan and a little more passion out there.

We have to win this game, we can't go back to Detroit facing elimination

Must-win...I love this team but I don't think they have a chance in hell in Detroit if they go down 3-2 in the series. The forwards outside of the Czech line and Wolski need to step up and start potting some goals and special teams needs to be much better. No stupid penalties!

I hate saying things like "this is it, this is the series" in games that won't result in elimination for either side, but this is as close as it gets.

I can't believe I have to wait 11 and a half hours for this **** to start.

Great GDT as always JC, thanks!

This is the one game they have to win this series. We cannot go into Joe Louis Arena facing elimination. We must have guys step up and take Doan's place if he's out. Get it done tonight boys!

We need to win this game, if we do, then that leaves Detroit having to win the last 2 final games to capture the series, and one of them is at the Job. If we win tonight, all we have to do to Detroit is to hold them to one more win or less. C'mon we can do it boys!

Even if Doaner is back, He shouldn't be playing like he did in the first 2 games. You don't play like that coming off an injury that keeps you out of a playoff game. We need Bryz and the D to step up once again...

Doan's influence would be mental more than anything else, for sure.

No Lang or Winnik please, they've played themselves off the team imo.
Our big players have to be huge, and we need to play our system perfectly. More low shots on net, we've been missing way too much and not exploiting Howard's rebound control.
I agree with what most people are saying, this game is likely to decide the series.

I'm excited about going tonight. I really hope it's not my last evening at the Job until October - or ever. And if it is, I hope the Coyotes make it memorable.

No such thing as a must win until a team has 3. That's the bottom line. If they lose tonight, I agree it's an uphill battle. The reality is that in the first round, the first team to win 2 in a row nearly always wins the series. But we're setting ourselves up for a defeatist attitude. Play hard, play well, get Bryz going and see what happens. If they do those things and lose a tight one, there's still a chance.

I hope we win tonight, but if we don't, it just means we have to work hard in game 6 to force a game 7.

My instinct? This feels like a 7 game series. Just has that feel to it, no matter what happens tonight.

In Game 4, our strategy entering the zone seemed to be to put the puck on Howard from outside the Blue line. I'm not sure who's bright idea that was, but it completely nuetralized our speed. It was like an NFL punt. Why the coaches felt the need to change our offensive game plan from Game 3, which we dominated, is beyond me.

We need to get back to using our speed and getting to the net. As Game 4 showed, we can't sit back on our heels and expect to win. I don't care how good this team is defensively, if you don't score, you don't win.

I think the idea was that if they can get Howard to cough up some rebounds on a hard shot from the blueline, it would lead to second and third chances, which would then produce goals. It backfired. It led to some offensive zone faceoffs, which in itself wasn't bad, but in retrospect it probably wasn't a good idea to let Howard handle the puck so much. He seemed to gain confidence from it, at times. I doubt they go back to that gameplan.

I didn't like this either. You can't hit Howard. It leaves the defense open to start the breakout, and if Howard gets pressured, he can always freeze the puck. Sure, Wolski scored off a cough up, but this strategy really interferes with forechecking and hitting the red wings defense.

I saw a Coyote today (the animal)

And I live in St. Catharines, Ontario... just outside of Niagara Falls. I'm a Coyotes fan who use to live in Arizona... I think it's a sign.

According to Strader's Twitter:

http://twitter.com/TheVoiceDS

Mathieu Schneider is in for tonight's game 5. I would anticipate 7 D & 11 F so a F will have to come out...Lang? Will confirm during warmup.

Tippett still saying Doan is progressing and a game time decision. I will confirm lines during warmups. Strader & Nash sporting white tuxes!

I would think so, yes. But if Doan can go, who sits? Probably a D at that point.
