Now that the shock has worn off, I have come to grips with the fact that this was Game 3, and that we are not, shockingly enough, eliminated from the playoffs.
I am glad it happened to Boyle, if only because of the fact that he is the one player on this team mentally tough enough to get over doing what he did. He knows how to handle adversity and triumph over it, as displayed in the Olympics when Mike Babcock called him out for horrible play and he responded with a dominating performance against Russia in the quarter-finals. He will be fine.
Despite all this, I still do not see Colorado winning this series. They are simply not good enough outside of the net to do it. Craig Anderson is not going to go 51-51 every night. We'll just have to wait and see how it pans out. Maybe they respond to adversity like they did so many times in Game 2, or maybe they roll over like in so many past seasons. There's no point in me worrying about it.
Daniel "oops wrong net" Boyle (born July 12, 1976) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and an alternate captain of the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played for the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, with whom he won a Stanley Cup in 2004.
I donno, though. The avs didn't mount much of an attack, and none of that was due to helminen and his ~4 minutes of ice time. I would trade 4 minutes of not getting scored against the avs on for 4 minutes of staubitz any day
I am gonna change my way of thinking and realize that we are a more talented team...talent will prevail....so we have to win 3 of the next 4 ....it has been done before,.....Colorado was given a gift tonight although at an unfortunate time.....we played better ..we need alot better showing from Marleau ...Maybe get the Heater back ( do you think he is really hurt or do you think he could have been benched for attitude)...Nabby played well and will again in game 4 ..then we are tied again coming back home....game 5 will be loud then we get home ice back........That scenario is not un realistic
