Site for stats over several years?

writing a piece and I need to compile some stats...i'd rather not have to do them all by hand...

im looking for a site that has the ability to compile stats for players or teams over several years.

for example, goals, assist and points for all players over the past 5...7...10 years.

anyone know of such a site?

You can't, really. Nothing will compile multiple seasons for you, you'll have to do the addition by yourself. NHL.com will at least show you the scoring leaders each season in an easy-to-use format.

Sure you can. Use the "Power Play" section, click the "combined seasons" button on top, put in "2000-2001" to "2009-2010" in the years, and set the minimum points to something that will definitely be met, like greater or equal to 300. Then you get a list of the highest scorers, which are:

Thornton, Iginla, Alfredsson, Hossa, St. Louis, Lecavalier, Kovalchuk, Jagr, Richards, and Heatley.

Took me less than 5 minutes to search that out and type this up.

EDIT: This is off of hockey-reference.com. It's great.

Oh, huh. I've never used hockey-reference, so that's news to me. Thanks for the clarification, I'll be sure to use that in the future.

All of the sports "hockey/football/basketball/baseball-reference" sites are amazing.

I use the NHL and NFL one all the time when looking up random crap and making ratings for my classic video games 8)

you can copy and paste the stats into excel and then use the different features to do your calculations.
